According to His Riches in Glory!

According to His Riches in Glory!

Generally, January is a month that I used to take off because of how incredibly slow it was. But this month I gleaned 30% more business than an average month. When all was said and done, God took care of every need in one month for all the extra bills and my regular bills.

I shared with you that January had been a month of considerable debt. I had a transmission leak and an oil leak in a BMW (not cheap), a had a front tooth break (also not cheap), I had an unexpected $1500 extra to pay in quarterly taxes, and today I had to pay a plumber $350 to fix some clogging issue under my house. All in all, the debt came to almost $5000.

As I shared with you before, I believe that Spirit God is also Unlimited Source. Where there is a need with God, there is also a way to produce what you need. I was inclined to share this need with you because I felt sure God would support my every need and I wanted my readers to see that supply comes with faith in unlimited source.

I also want you to know that I set out at the beginning of this month to lose 10 pounds. I am at a 9 pound loss right now. I gave myself two weeks initially to lose the weight, but I realized that for someone my weight and height, that two weeks was a short amount of time to take off ten pounds. I feel certain that the extra pound will be off in two days by the end of the month.

I can now fit back in all my jeans. Actually, all my pants are desperately needing a belt now. So, maybe the consistent abdominal exercises have been a great help in taking the inches off as well.

The title to this blog is “According to His Riches in Glory!” What exactly does that mean to you? Do you see God as a man in the sky that is doling out money and gold? Or is it more right to see God as spirit ever present, changing our minds about situations and our limitations?

When you see God as spirit changing your mind, then you are more apt to be the creator of your own life and make the changes necessary for good to appear in your life. When you have the expectation that God is a man doling out money, you may get the idea that you are standing in a long welfare line and that there may not be enough when you actually get to the front of the line.

God is not a human. God is spirit. God operates as spirit. This is exactly why we must learn to be in the now and become observers of our human selves. If we expect God to act as humans do, then we anthropomorphize God and change its spiritual ways into human traits. This isn’t good for you or anyone else.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want a God who acts like any human I know. I want a spirit rich in Glory and beauty, powerful beyond measure, maker of the universe, and connected to me through prayer and meditation.

I want a God I can look up to and model my behavior after. I’m not sure there was a man besides Jesus that I know of that I would want as a mentor. People have faults. Everyone does. And the problem with making men and women our idols and mentors is that they are bound to disappoint us in so many ways.

I think most of us are grown up enough in spirit to make God be our only model for perfection. Let’s count on, depend on, rely on spirit to change our minds and wills to be a perfect conduit for unlimited good and prosperity! Let’s start now.

Are You Anxious

Are You Anxious?

Do you really know what causes anxiety and panic attacks? I have so many clients come to my office and say they have gone to psychiatrists and therapist and have been diagnosed with panic attacks, but really don’t have a complete understanding of what panic actually is.

I’d like to start with an explanatory story. If you were walking toward my house from your car, and just as you got ten feet from my door, you noticed a lion behind you.  A myriad of physiological, fight or flight responses would go off in your body. Your heart would race, adrenalin and cortisol would be released into your blood stream, causing hypertension, quick response time, and almost unrecognizable speed in your body to get to safety.

You would run to my door, knock frantically and maybe even try to break down the door, rather than get killed by the ferocious lion. Who wouldn’t?

But, say I open the door immediately, and you are swiftly rescued to safety. We call FEMA. We know that help is on it’s way? Your heart begins to slow down. Your mind stops racing. Your blood pressure slowly begins to go to normal, albeit, it may take a couple hours.

But, say that while waiting for help, the lion realizes that the window to the front room is unsecure. He begins to slam into the window with his strong paw. The window bay shakes. We both begin to quiver. There are three strong doors between us and the lion. We know practically that the likelihood of the lion getting to us through all those doors is small, but still the tiny threat continues.

This small threat is a great representative of low-grade anxiety. Small triggers like a loud sound, similar to the lion pounding on the window, may be a trigger to a panic attack. Or going to sleep that night might not feel so safe. So your heart may begin to replicate the feeling of panic again in the middle of the night when you feel completely vulnerable.

This is real representation anxiety. Many things can cause anxiety. Finances. Business failure. Children. Relationship problems. Juggling too many things in your life. The threat of something hidden in your past coming to the surface. Some gay people suffer from anxiety if they are not out or are married to a straight person. These are all great reasons to be harboring anxiety.

But how do we get rid of the poison that causes these problems? That’s the key, actually, to this blog.

A psychiatrist will usually put you on a medication that will be an anti-anxiety drug. There are plenty of them, but a few of the most common are diazepam and clonazepam, the generic names of Klonopin and Valium. Some physicians will also put people on antidepressants to help them manage ongoing anxiety. I would have to say that it had better be because the client is also depressed. For me, I think that taking an antidepressant for sporadic anxiety is not a good use of medication. But that’s my opinion, and I’m not a physician. Antidepressants are meant to help you feel better on a whole and with depressive states, which could contribute to helping slow down the anxiety, but doesn’t truly help the problem.

I have found that what really helps anxiety is getting to the fear behind the anxiety. Then focusing on what will make you feel safe in the face of that fear. The anti-anxiety meds are great to help you calm down while you are getting to the place where you can eliminate the triggers that cause the night sweats and heart palpitations. I’ve been there. I know.

When you have a trauma lingering in your past that has caused something like PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome), then a little trigger can cause the entire body to react in a fight or flight sequence that your brain isn’t responsible for. So, taking a pill to help your physiology get back to normal, so you can manage the thought process, isn’t a bad idea at all.

Hypnosis can really help in these situations. I know, a great deal of times I come back to saying this. I’m not trying to get you to come to me for therapy. You can go anywhere to get hypnotized. You can read a book or even get a hypnotic MP3. But these kinds of episodes need to helped in the subconscious mind.

New neuro pathways have to be forged to create healthy, solid patterns for the mind and body to respond to. Then they must be practiced for a considerable amount of time before a change appears in the physiological response of the body.

Anxiety is a real problem. Real answers are available if you are looking for them.

Prajapati—Pregnant with Desire

Prajapati—Pregnant with Desire

In Hindu mythology, Prajapati is the Lord of all creation who impregnated himself by fusing elements of mind and speech to create the world. So, as we remember in Christian text that God created the world by speaking it into existence as well.

What is it about the spoken word that is so magical that it can bring substance into existence?

I’m intrigued by the idea that in both cultures, SPIRIT took MIND and SPEECH to create the universe. And juxtaposed to that, as a hypnotherapist, the main premise of REcreating your mental challenges is about getting to your spiritual self (the subconscious or observer-self) and speaking or directing new thoughts to your mind to create new behavior and a new you.

So, God who we know created us in its own image also gave us the same abilities as Spirit-God—to create by means of using our mind and words. This fascinates me and also makes me feel as though the world is just at the precipice of learning to use our God-given talents to create a world that is worthy of Spirit’s dwelling.

We talked about making a new mission statement yesterday. This idea of a mission is well within the bounds of seeing a new world. Eckhark Tolle’s book, “A New Earth” speaks of learning to live in the present and extrapolating the power of the Now can be, and will be, the power we have all been looking for to change our lives and the lives of those to come forward behind us.

Let’s all take the time to meditate on this idea: Living within each of us is the seed power of God to create! If we could learn to use this power, we could create a life that is peaceful, powerful, prosperous, and useful for the entire world.

Declaration of Principle

Declaration of Principle

Today at church, while I was reciting our ministry’s declaration of principle, I thought I really need to create a declaration of principle for my own life. What exactly am I about and what am I declaring with my own existence? Don’t I need to have that memorized in my subconscious mind and be executing it in every deed and action that I do daily?

I know that in business and in churches it is a great idea to create a declaration of principle and a mission statement that is precise and effective, not only for everyone in the corporation and business to get on the same page, but also to distill your brand and your ideas into concise thoughts and ideas, so your community can begin to live and work with unity toward your corporate goals each day.

So, I thought that I would share some thoughts about everyone who is reading today this doing a declaration of principle together. What thoughts would we want to be in our declaration?

1.     What kind of person I am?
2.     My vision of my personal development
3.     What I do by trade?
4.     What is my passion?
5.     And most importantly, how will I use all of what I am to effectively be a mover and a creator in the world?

So, my statement might read:

I am a strong, passionate, and authentic man who is not afraid to be sensitive and honest. I am by trade a Life Coach and Clinical Hypnotherapist, I teach my own version of yoga called Boga Fitness, I’ve written twelve books, I’m a vocal coach and a vegetarian chef.  I am a piano player, a singer and speaker.  And, most importantly I believe I’ve been put on this earth to help people find their personal paths to authentic change.

This statement might be something that I print out and add to my vision board or place on my bureau mirror to remind me daily of what I stand for and what I want to reflect each day to those I work with and my friends and family.

We need reminders of who we are everyday. So many factors affect us daily that can change our disposition from a calm and peace warrior being a crystal in the chaos, to suddenly being an angry child recreating an old behavior from our past. I need to be reminded of whom God see me as. I need to be reminded that I am not just a human being, but I am a spirit in a human body playing out my truth—daily.

So, developing a way to communicate this truth to myself every day is a great way to challenge myself to be a bigger and better human being.

Basic Understanding

Basic Understanding

When it comes to true understanding, there is no one more compassionate than a mother-type. I say mother-type, because some mothers are not motherly at all. But a true example of love is a small child nested at his/her mother’s chest in perfect harmony. That love transcends time and seems to continue no matter how old the child gets.

I heard a very interesting story about a child who didn’t get the love of a mother, because the mother died in a car accident when the child was one. The young girl who died came from an abusive home. Six months before she died, she discovered she had a stepbrother who became instantly bonded with her. When the young girl died, the stepbrother took the child to raise when he was only eighteen years old.

He told me that he felt compelled to give the child a better life than his, better than his stepsister’s. So, he went to college, had his mother babysit when he was at work or at school, and together they raised the child, until his mother passed away. But there was a small glitch in the process.

When the child was five years old, the young man came home to find the baby girl had been whisked away by her grandparents. Because the young man had never legally adopted the child and because it was long enough ago that Internet wasn’t available, he couldn’t find a lawyer who would take the case, or couldn’t track down the grandparents on his own.

Eventually, someone slipped up and the grandparent’s whereabouts were discovered. The young man was afforded the legal aid that helped him regain total custody of the child. He raised her until she is now an adult and is 25 years old.

She is engaged. So, basically, this man is the only mother-type this young woman knows. In talking to him, I could tell that he held within his heart the basic instinct of a mother. Locked inside him were the maternal and paternal caring features that make his bond so very touching and special and his story good enough to become a book some day, as he has an agent and some perspective publishers interested.

What a wonderful human-interest story. For me, it was way more about how God brought my friend into his stepsister’s life right before she died to care for the child. God knew that he would be the perfect person to raise her. But even so, raising the child wouldn’t go without its obstacles, even if it were meant to be.

Sometimes, we look at life as if it is supposed to have this perfect, unwavering road that leads to our destinies. When we truly never find real happiness or the perfect path to joy and purpose unless we take roads that we would never have expected to take that are covered over with rocks, poison ivy, and jagged glass.

These are the times and adventures we remember the most in life. These are the true passionate moments of our lives when we truly lived every millisecond to the fullest with every cell in our bodies.

Basic Understanding of living life to the fullest takes a true knowledge of understanding how to be in the perfect Now and how to provide all your presence of spirit and mind to that moment perfectly and without hesitation. That, my friend, takes practice.

A Newer Normal

A Newer Normal

Today I was at Vanderbilt Hospital in the waiting room of the Urgent Care Center with my mother. At two operational intake desks on each side of the room, sat four women, three African Americans and one Caucasian. The only other people in the waiting room were three men who were boldly talking about racism and their ugly point of view about white supremacy and how President Obama is evil.

My mother, who was the one waiting to see the doctor, turned around without even thinking and said in a disgusted tone, “Why don’t you keep your opinions to yourself?” After which, I stood up and made sure they knew we meant business. I went over to one of the ladies at the at the reception desk and said, “Will I get in trouble if I tell that loud redneck to take his conversation outside, because this is a public place?”

She answered, “No. And I would certainly appreciate it,” as I know she wasn’t allowed to speak up because of hospital policy.

Honestly, I was aghast at the behavior of these men—so brazen and proud of their disgusting prejudice. You’d have to wonder what kind of normal they had been bred from.

Then there was my mother, a person who had been brought up to believe that “negroes should be slaves” and that they were unclean by virtue of their color. I know this because the first time I befriended a “colored girl” I was told that she was not to come into the house. In fact, I remember inviting her to my sixth grade birthday party. Only about four of the twenty young friends showed up to my “outside cookout.” I was too young to realize it was because of prejudice. I never understood. I couldn’t see color then. I can’t really see color now.

So, you have to wonder about people in general. Can we truly blame their upbringing for what they believe? I was raised in a very prejudiced home. My mother was raised until she was probably 35 to believe African Americans were less than white folks. But an open and compassionate heart learns to love and accept when given a chance. Right? Mom and I did.

When people are prejudiced against gay or GLBT people, they have an opportunity to learn from their experience every time to be more compassionate and loving, despite their religious belief or cultural background. I have some friends that in their country being gay could get them killed. Yet, the freedom here in America to love has given them the compassion to open their hearts to something new and wonderful—the power to choose between law and love.

I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to the day the Supreme Court is faced with the decision of allowing gays the same rights as the rest of society. Isn’t it time? How long can you hold back equal rights from millions of Americans—people you interact with every day… These same people are your hairdressers, your ballet teachers, your singing coaches, your acting coaches, your bankers, your lawyers, your school teachers, your artists. We are in every part of the subculture of the United States, paying taxes and primarily living the same life as straight people (except for a little more stylishly, you have to admit). What doesn’t afford us the equal rights of an American? That is the true question?

When the answer comes down from the Supreme Court, we will see where the country is in accepting change and compassion for all human beings, not just GLBT people. This is not just a gay matter. We have been fighting this battle since African Americans were freed from slavery and since women wanted to vote. Freedom and the ability for the country to change from its staunch old-granddaddy laws from the 1900s is NOW.
We have to voice it.
We have to change it.
We have to shout it out loud!

Diabetes, Sugar, Heart Attacks and Child Obesity

Diabetes, Sugar, Heart Attacks, and Child Obesity

My mother had a real scare recently when she went to see her podiatrist about a toe injury. The physician told her that he could barely hear the pulse in her feet because the neuropathy had gotten so bad from her diabetes.

Well, the only way neuropathy can worsen is when your diabetes is not under control. My mother knew that she had been eating poorly for quite sometime, especially over the holidays with her sugars raging in the high 300s and 400s sometimes. This news rather scared her into a formulaic change in her eating and exercise behavior. Although it was a potent dose of bad news, it seemed to be the only way to stop her bad choices. She has lost 8 pounds in the past 3 weeks. She and I have lost the same amount of weight.

I see this kind of news happen over and over again in people who come to me for help. They try and try on their own. They seem not to have the will to stop doing whatever it is that have to curtail, until some kind of terrible warning signal from their bodies presents itself. Why is this so?

You know when you see an active teenager eating pizza for dinner almost every night what goes through your mind: he or she will definitely come to the day when that pizza will become fat and that kind of behavior will no longer work? Why doesn’t this message stay clear in our heads when we try to manifest the same kind of poor behavior? We see our tummies bulging. We feel our stomachs protruding. We know are clothes are fitting. Yet, we continue to swallow the wrong food daily and don’t make time to exercise or take care of ourselves.

This is the time to wake up from the dream. We aren’t twenty anymore. And it has come to our attention that even our youngsters are not able to take the burden of poor diets anymore.

There are children who eat poorly and gain weight from a young age even though they are active. They just eat the wrong food, not enough vegetable—primarily because they don’t like them and their parents don’t force them to eat anything with vegetables in it—and then also they probably don’t get enough protein to compliment the high portions of simple carbohydrates. This will make for an overweight child every time.

I have a dear friend who has a problem child who will only eat pasta and potatoes. The child is beautiful and lovely, but is ten and already overweight for her age. The mother is distraught, because no matter what she tries, she can’t get her daughter to eat anything but pasta and potatoes. I believe the friend told me her daughter watched a movie about how meat was made. After the move, the daughter never touched meat again. That was after she decided vegetables were too green and beans were too slimy. I think the only thing the girl likes on her pasta is butter. She won’t even eat tomato sauce. She does, however, eat fruit, which isn’t going to help the girl’s glycemic index at all. But eating fruit will help give the daughter some much needed vitamins.

I have worked with children like this. You have to do a lot of hiding food in things to make kids eat vegetables. One thing I taught this friend to do is to mash cauliflower instead of mash potatoes and see if the daughter noticed the difference. She didn’t. I told her to make potato soup and use a broth that had a purée of chicken and celery and diced shallots. So, the potatoes are visible, but the meat and vegetables weren’t. In fact, puréeing is a great option for the pasta eater as well. She could make a light butter sauce with a pureed mixture of a couple light colored vegetables (not too many) and some steamed turkey or chicken, then cover the pasta with it.

The truth is, if you have to get creative when it comes to getting good food in a child. And when it comes to getting good food into your self, you have to be down right dogmatic. You tell yourself: Do this or you’re going to die early, get fat, and or get adult onset diabetes, which will produce heart problems, high blood pressure, and a myriad of other organ problems, not to mention self-esteem issues and depression.

So, let’s make a plan this New Years to start off healthy and stay healthy. If you need help with a good plan and need some motivation, I know of a great hypnotherapist who can get you on the right path.

What We Think About, We Bring About

What We Think About, We Bring About

Our consciousness is constantly taking on burdens from our day-to-day life. We affix our minds on finance, families, jobs, relationships, body images, computers, social apps. You name it. It’s there for the shaping of our supple minds. Whatever time we feed to the large majority of our minds, that energy goes to shaping and molding our external lives.

If you are a workaholic, you are bound up by the idea that you will not have enough when you retire. You may spend nights and days thinking about work and what you might do to make life easier when you retire. This may cause you to have high blood pressure, a weak heart, and ultimately never live to see the money that you have put away for yourself.

If your mind is affixed on computers night and day, you will spend your time in a two-dimensional world that never goes beyond you and your computer screen or your phone screen. Computer addiction is the number one addiction these days. If you are spending three and four hours in front of your computer, playing games and talking to people on-line, you need to start thinking about the time you are losing in the real world. The sunsets you miss. The happy faces you don’t get to see. The dinners you forget to cook for yourself and your family because your on-line chat with your fantasy-baseball pal has taken over your world.

Think about how you could be shaping your world with the use of your creative mind. If what I say is true about the mind holding the key to bringing about your world, then you hold the keys to reshaping and recreating everything in your life now. What is keeping you from dreaming about the future in a new way? Desimate the blocks to the new you and surge forward, my friend.

You can use the computer, your work, your family, and your current relationship situations as a building block to restructure your life in new and wonderful ways. But, you have to be the person making the blue prints for your life. You can’t expect that your life is going to change when all you do is answer to a boss all your life. Subordinates don’t change the world. Answering to someone may be how you need to learn your lesson today, but today is not permanence. Recreate your world with new ideas and become your own boss.

There is a theory that every day in the ethers that creative thought has a myriad of new ideas just waiting to be dispensed to the world. But people lack the patience to wait in the silence for the ideas to develop in their creative minds from Spirit. There is a song we used to sing in church: “In the silence there is a secret place, a secret meeting place… God is there!”

The mind is not only a place where creative thought occurs, it is also the house of subconscious thoughts or dreams. Some of these dreams can be developed and some are meant to be read or interpreted.

From the age of six till eight I had a recurring dream that I was taken by a witch from my bed, flatten like a piece of cardboard so that I would fit under my parent’s bedroom door then under their bed, then I would sit by a witch’s caldron while she would decide how to operate on me. This dream occurred almost every night, no matter how hard I tried to change my mind about.

Later in life, I would have a dream that I was in a play or a musical. I was cast as the understudy and didn’t know the role very well before I was thrown on stage in front of a live audience to perform. I was paralyzed in my dream, over and over.

After college and well into my twenties, I would have a dream that would come often and still recurs to this day every once in a while. I am in high school and I have to get to my next class. But I can’t remember my locker combination.

Of course, all of these dreams are subconscious thoughts that can’t be controlled that are actually signs that can lead to helping the consciousness recover memory or heal from loss, or even gain direction for the future. In each case, when I discovered what the dream was trying to tell me, I was able to move on.

The dream about the locker combination is always about being confused about something that requires memory of something in the past. It usually was that I was forgetting something in the past that would keep me from hurting myself.

The dream about the stage is also very simple. Whenever this dream appears, I don’t feel prepared for whatever life is handing me at the moment. So, I simply take steps to prepare myself, or take a step backward from whatever I’m moving forward toward.

The youngest dream is the most confusing of the dreams. I believe it had to do with searching for a higher power—something that would protect me from what was going on in my very unstable family life, as my parents were moving toward a divorce.

The human brain is amazing in its ability to create. We were given it as a tool. We were not given it to be ruled by or to be controlled by or for it to manipulate our bodies and lives into robots destined for destruction.

Try meditation sometime soon. Learn the art of becoming the compassionate observer of your own humanness. You will never learn anything more important in your entire life. Your human brain is a function tool to be used by you as spirit every day to create good and manifest the best for your life and those around you.

Creative Anticipation—Happily Dream. Worry About the How Later!

Creative Anticipation—Happily Dream. Worry About the How Later!

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everything you dreamed could come true in an instant? Well, if we believed in quantum physics, perhaps the time between dreaming and creating the dream is stacked on top of each other—happening at the same time in our consciousness. If that were true, would you take more time to dream and less time to worry about how your dream would come into fruition?

Three years ago I had a dream about a book. I had no idea what the name of it was going to be. I knew it would help people. I knew it would work on relationships, spirituality, physical health, emotional health, and be a guide to clearer meditation.

To tell you the truth, at first, a lot of ego worry went into this book. I had had a writing contract with a publisher that was to be a spin-off of my relationship book. We were thinking there would be three books total that spun off of “Your Gay Friend’s Guide to Understanding Men.”

I tried to picture what my new spiritual book would be like in the format of a Gay Man’s guide to spirituality. Every time I would try to write it, I would get stuck. Something felt completely wrong with the entire premise. Yet, I wanted to satisfy my contract, because it was a something tangible, and I had a publisher. Most people don’t have the luxury of both as a writer.

But my calling was lifting me above the physical trappings of contracts and publishers. I heard a voice in my hear that said, “Let your old ideas go and start from the beginning.”

Despite that calling, it took another two attempts at satisfying the publisher before the publisher and I came to an agreement to dissolve our relationship. It was a friendly agreement. I still talk with them, because they still hold the rights to one of my books.

But this meant I had to start from the beginning. No agent. No manuscript. No idea. Just God.

But saying “just God” is saying a lot. When God has a plan, there is something magical in store, if you just follow through with the plan. The plan started out as this: “Bo, write a blog that encourages people! Write it daily without missing a day. And I will bless it.”

So, without any knowledge of blogs and what to do with one, I started out writing a blog in a free space on my current website, which was a bad mistake. But, you know, you just don’t understand what you are to do until the time comes. I guess I was to make all my mistakes with the blog before it went a little viral.

I wrote for almost six months. I know a few people were reading it because I would get notes that people were changing and benefiting from it, but I didn’t get the true picture of what was happening until one day about nine months into it, I realized I had a statics page on this not-so-good blogsite. I had been avoiding looking at that page, because I didn’t want to get discouraged by it. So, when I finally looked at it and saw how many people had visited the site, and how many more had subscribed to it—about 19,000 consistent followers—I was overwhelmed with pleasure and thanking God.

What next? I asked. But I didn’t get an answer.

Then my mind went into business mode. How do I get what I’m doing into a book or into an agent’s or publisher’s hands? I contacted a few friends in the biz. Everyone seemed interested, but they seemed to slam the door in my face after a few minutes of talking. Something was not congealed or right about my platform that turned each person off. (For people who are not writers or performers, a platform is a brand of sorts that attracts a following of people. Each of the people thought my platform was underdeveloped.)

I realized that in the development of what I had been doing, what I really was missing was a brand. This is why in December the blog switched to “Finding Authentic You.”

Finally, what I was doing and whom I was writing to made sense. It took me almost two years to uncover the process. All that had happened in the past was necessary to come to this one moment of realization and clarity.

Then after all of this took place, I built the new website. This time I did it correctly. When I did, I learned I had been going about blogs all-wrong. I found out about Word Press and Blogger and all of these wonderful ways to advertise your blog, which I had never used before. Suddenly, even after only 20 days of my new blog being up, I’m getting 5000 hits a day on just my new site. That is not counting the other 4 places I post to—Blogger, Google+, WordPress, and Facebook.

I can also say that I have finally gotten the next step of direction from Spirit, which I’m very excited about. I’m not going to share it with you yet. But I will in the near future when it becomes a reality.

All this to say that Dreaming is Reality. Dreaming is expressing the next step, no matter what it looks like. Dreaming doesn’t often take a financial leap immediately. In fact, most times, dreams take a great deal of time and energy to come to full fruition. Don’t be afraid of that. Let your dreams unfold naturally and completely. Stay with your old job if you need to until the entire dream expresses. And most importantly, stick to your purpose, no matter what.

If you get stuck, think of me writing those first 90 blogs with about 20 people reading them. It didn’t matter. God was flowing through me and starting the process of a pure channel of truth. What can be a better source for spirit than you being open to something spiritually wonderful flowing through perfect, individual, wonderful you?

Love Is the Fulfillment of the Law

Love Is the Fulfillment of the Law

When we think about law, we think of that which creates a world of safety around us. Without laws we would be void of limiting behavior that could destroy and manipulate each other to the point of suffering and death. As a result of wanting to keep people from infringing on other’s proprietary belongings and needs, Moses, our first lawmaker, set out to create a divine set of rules to protect humans from inhumane behavior gone awry.

As life evolved and technology raced forward, laws also changed to accommodate the new and wonderful ways we could annihilate each other. Countries banned together to created collective laws and alliances to support each other in these large spectrum treaties that govern larger parts of the world.

But underneath all of the law is one presiding word: LOVE! If love were carried out in every aspect of its human challenge, there would be no need for any other law, but the law of love.

As in the Christian’s bible book of Corinthians, chapter 13, vs 1-16; the apostle Paul says that:
1.     Love is patient;
2.     love is kind;
3.     love is not jealous;
4.     love does not brag;
5.     love is not arrogant;
6.     love does not act unbecomingly;
7.     love does not seek its own;
8.     love does can not be provoked;
9.     love does not take into account a wrong suffered;
10. love does not rejoice in unrighteousness;
11. love rejoices with the truth; and
12. love bears all things.

If every unrighteous act were put under the laws of love in First Corinthians, there would be no need for the law as we see it today.

The trouble with ascribing law to love is that everyone has a different view of what love actually is. If you were born an orphan, cared by people who barely touched you, struggled for an education, then ended up with a terrible disease, you would have a very eschewed idea of what love is.

So, we set up judges who we vote into office to correct the imbalance of our negative and positive inputs in life and hope that the laws they create will compensate for what love lacked. But can we really trust these judges to have perfect compassion and respect all humanity in every situation? I think it’s an impossible scenario.

But, honestly, how could any judge or judgment other than God itself know perfect love? So, we are faced with the human treatment of love and its misfortunate laws that have protruded from it.

The one excellent thing we can gain from this concept today is that we have the power to make the choice of making love our greatest litmus test for live and law. If we place the power of love and compassion above and beyond all set of circumstances in our lives, we will never make the wrong choice.

I think of when Jesus was faced with choosing the law over love, He chose love every time. It didn’t matter how much the Pharisees and the Sadducees mocked him for his unrighteous decisions to neglect the law. He spoke with the greatest law of all: Above all these, without love, you have nothing!

Crazy, Wonderful You

Crazy, Wonderful You!

Yesterday I had an interesting lunch date with a guy who was a manager of a car repair shop and had been married with three fully-grown children, the youngest was 23 years old. We had Thai food, which he had never had in his 48 years of life. We laughed through most of what could have been an uncomfortable lunch experience. I really enjoyed the time with him—so much so that I suggested a walk at Radnor afterwards.

We took his very butch and decked-out, brand, spanking new truck and left my old Beemer in the parking lot. When we got to Radnor, every person in town must have been thinking the same thing we had, because there was nowhere to park. He got anxious quickly and said, “I can’t sit around here all day,” the n whipped his car in reverse, and took off out of the parking lot.

We learn a lot about people in the first few hours we know them. You can write to them for a long time on-line and talk to them on the phone for awhile, but you never really know a person until you spend time with a person face-to-face.

“So,” I said, “what was that about? You seem a little angry.”

“Nah. I just have a bit of road rage. Maybe I need anger management,” he replied jokingly.

I replied, “You know, I wrote a book about relationships. One of the things I say in it is to watch how your date treats other people, because soon you will find yourself being treated the same way.”

You know, I’m not sure if I misspoke or should have just kept my mouth shut, but dating at this age makes you older, wiser, and kind of sick of bullshit. He had told me that he has been single for 14 years. I can see why. He told me it was about the hurt from his last break-up. I think it was more about the anger he is carrying now.

But he is a mirror for me too. I’m carrying around some anger, I’m sure. I know my back going out this week is probably, in part, about me feeling like I have been metaphorically stabbed in the back by my ex. Most people typically transport our feelings to our bodies when we are unable to process our feelings wisely or in due time.

Carolyn Myss wrote a great book about this called “Energy Anatomy” in 2001. It explains the chakra system and the ways we can hold or store negative and positive energy in each of our chakra systems. The book is a great read if you want to know more about the metaphors of energy and their psychic links to the body.

Humans are wired in a wonderful and crazy way. We have men addicted to fetishes who love their wives and can’t stop thinking of high heels when they have sex. We have women who would rather shop than have sex with their husbands. We have children garnering all the wrong behaviors from their parents from seeing behavior instead of listening to advise and learning from books. We have neuro-pathways shaping and tricking our human minds into paths we should never follow. But behind it all, we are wonderfully made of God. We should never forget that great standard. We have hope and power beyond measure, because we have within us a spark of unlimited goodness that can always be nurtured to grow and change us in exponential ways.

I love you and God loves you. I hope you know that today!
