Micro-Intentions: Changing Negativity into Positivity! #Intentions #microintentions #dreaming

We all have intentions in life, whether we know it not. We may seek to be wealthier, have a better, more exciting job, or simply wish for peace and health. We may also, without realizing it, speak intentions that are negative, such as, “I’m going to live the rest of my life unhappy, miserable, in pain, or poor!” When we speak or think, we also set an intention and the universal powers listen! It is Spiritual Law! Realize this. Our thoughts are the ingredients that create our lives, so take every thought into captivity.

Micro-intentions are smaller intentions, but just as important to helping create a better, more blissful life. My micro-intentions sound like this, for example: If I have a negative thought about abandonment, I think this thought or say this aloud: “Whenever I think a thought about abandonment, every child in the world who has been left by a parent or guardian is feeling the hug of someone compassionate and loving.”
What this micro-intention does psychologically is change my negativity into something positive in my own mind, but also spins my problem into beautiful energy that catches the wind of Divine Mind and changes the world. When you shift your own energy, you alter your life, but you also change the world. One nice act can change the entire world, using the domino effect.

So, today, every time you get to an impasse in your thoughts with something negative, listen to yourself and stop. Take the negative thought and spin it into something positive for the world. (Don’t change your intention into something goof for yourself. Make your intention benefit someone else. Come from a place of compassion and love.

The entire exercise is about making something negative into something positive, not something centered in Ego. Trust me, your intention for someone else, will alter your own feelings without even considering yourself in that moment. That’s the magic of this exercise. When you release your negative thoughts and use the part of your mind that requires compassion and love, you automatically alter the energy of your being and everyone around you, immediately.

Four Steps to Peace: Walking in the Moment #positiveoutlook #now #TibetanBuddhism

The fabric of Tibetan Buddhism is based on living in the present moment. Nothing in the past or in the future is real. Only the very moment that you live exists for you. Every moment you spend in the past or the present is a moment spent missing the only reality you have! Many people in Western religions and cultures have adopted this premise, because it simply makes sense.
All of our anxiety exists because we either live in the past, expect too much from the future, or avoid the present moment. So, how do we stay present, love the moment—no matter what it brings, and keep our minds from operating in the future?

This is how Majjhima Nikaya says to train your mind (this is not for the fainthearted):

“Monks, even if bandits were to carve you up savagely, limb by limb, with a two-handled saw, he among you who (would) let his heart get angered even at that would not be doing My bidding. Even then you should train yourselves: ‘Our minds will be unaffected and we will say no evil words. We will remain sympathetic, with a mind of good will, and with no inner hate. We will keep pervading these people with an awareness imbued with good will and, beginning with them, we will keep pervading the all-encompassing world with an awareness imbued with good will — abundant, expansive, immeasurable, free from hostility, free from ill will.’ That’s how you should train yourselves.”

Secondly, “A person of integrity is grateful and thankful. This gratitude, this thankfulness, is advocated by civil people.”(Anguttara Nikaya)

Third, Buddhism has always emphasized the practice of dana, or giving. Giving hasn’t been seen purely as the exchange of material possessions, however; giving in Buddhist terms also includes non-tangibles such as education, confidence, and wisdom.

And at last, use MINDFULNESS to fill your life. This, of course, is an example of another fundamental Buddhist practice. When we’re mindful we stay in the present moment, and really pay attention to our experience. Walking meditation, and even eating, can be ways of savoring everyday moments. In being present, we dwell in the present without obsessing about the past or future, and this ultimately bring radiant happiness:

They sorrow not for what is past,
They have no longing for the future,
The present is sufficient for them:
Hence it is they who appear so radiant.

Five Steps to a Positive Disposition #positiveoutlook #cherishthenow #goodmemories

Here are five steps that will change your life, will keep you thinking positive thoughts, and will help you define a better and healthier lifestyle:
  1. First thing in the morning, begin to look around you for your blessings. They may be small and large. Recite them aloud! The cat, the dog, my children, my husband, my wife, my friends, my home, my job, a favorite piece of art, the sunshine, the moon, the looming clouds, the expanding universe, etc.
  2. Know that the Source that made all of your blessings is also inside of you—the very fabric of you. This power of good that created all that is everything present made you perfect, loving, and prosperous! Claim it aloud!
  3. Say YES to life! See the possibility of your day being the best or better than you can even imagine. Know this for yourself and believe it with all your heart.
  4. Be thankful for your blessings! Say them aloud!
  5. Release your day to the power that created everything! Trust that, even if something unexpected occurs, it is for your best and perfect good. Don’t let the evidence of negativity effect your positive outlook, no matter how hard it tries to make you believe that your internal believe is untrue. Believe, no matter the circumstance! Whatever it is you are going through, you have a positive, loving, compassionate, guiding hand holding yours.
Remember to practice all of the above daily. A prosperous outlook takes practice and rehearsal. I promise, though, you will see change in your life and those around you within weeks.

Five Steps to Avoiding Negativity #negativethoughts #anxiety #sadmemories

Here are five steps that will change your life, will dissolve any negative thinking that causes you anxiety, and will help you define a better and healthier lifestyle:
  1. Do your own thinking! Don’t let the world or anyone in your life think FOR you. We spend our lives being judged by others. Sometimes, we believe other’s judgments are the truth. What you believe about yourself matters. Other’s beliefs about you simply are not the truth. Everything you think about yourself will eventually find its way to the surface and express itself completely. So, if you let others judgments get inside your mind, you will eventually BE what other think you are.
  2. Back off! Step away from other’s lives and your problems. Take time to observe your problems and joys present right now. If you deal with issues from another person, see what the situation would feel like if you let go of expectations. Don’t expect anyone to change. Remember that everyone has a right to be miserable. You just don’t have to be miserable with him/her.
  3. Think about what you are saying YES to. Are you going on through life saying yes or agreeing with things that don’t resonate with your soul or ideals? If so, start saying no! Sometimes our curse in life is that we are too kind and people take advantage of us. If this is the case, usually our life load is heavier than others, making life more difficult to manage. Start saying no, when you simply don’t feel as if you need another thing to manage.
  4. Argue with your own negative attitude! When something anxious or debilitating goes through your mind, argue with it. You would not let others feed you the kinds of negative thoughts your own mind feeds you. So, why not argue with your own mind. What you will do is force yourself to make better, more accurate, assessments of reality by using self-inquiry.
  5. Learn HOW to think, not WHAT to think! This is the most important aspect of these five steps. In traditional religion, we are all taught that things are either bad or good. The laws of our country teach us what we should and shouldn’t do. Parents, family, and friends give us their opinions about what they think.

So, basically, we are nudged into WHAT to think about life and ourselves. There is nothing autonomous or powerful about spending your life in other’s beliefs. Begin to understand yourself—your wants, your spiritual beliefs, and your truths. You will make great strides forward in your life, if you begin taking steps towards being a strong believer of your own truth. Then, it will be easier to walk in the pathway toward your perfect desires with strength and fortitude. You’ll be a better person for it!

Feeling Rico (Rich)! #abundance #DivineMind #family&friends

I spend a great deal of time, sharing how to better your life on Finding Authentic You. Today, I want to explain the possibility of richness in your life, how healthy your body can be, and how mentally stable you will feel simply by following six easy steps:
  1. Acknowledge Source, God, Love, or Spirit (whatever you call your higher power) every day.
  2. No that you are made by the same, awesome power that IS source. Acknowledge this as well. Say: “This God Power works in and through me now! I believe it to be so.”
  3. Be thankful for the right to have this power and use it to create love, wholeness, compassion, and prosperity in the world, because your very foundation is made of Love.
  4. Reach out from your human paradigm into a cosmological world of possibility. (This is one of the most important steps of this movement toward wholeness.) Imagine that your hands and mind can reach out of your human mind and into a place of pure possibility. What would you do with this energy, if you could plant the seeds of your dreams and thoughts into this energetic possibility, knowing that the seeds will take root, Spirit will water and grow them, if you just believe? Would you begin supporting a new life in this world of possibility? Or would you let all of this unused energy just lie there?
  5. Then, release your dreams, aspirations, and desires to the Law, knowing that the only means of Spirit manifesting on this earth plane is through us humans. The Law of Source is the highest law in the land. If the Law proclaims you are a child of Spirit, that there is a Law of Mind working for you and as you, and that you are now and have always been loved, blessed, and prosperous—this Law will come to pass. No doubt!
  6. The last thing you must do is believe it is so. Simply say: And so it is!
These six steps are foolproof. I use them everyday and simply cannot feel better, happier, and more and more in the presence of love every day and moment, than I do now.

Pap’s Face: Shekinah Glory #spirituality #facingdeath #divinepresence #shekinahglory #livingintheNOW

In the summer after my freshman year of Carnegie-Mellon University, I went to spend the summer at my father’s home in West Mayfield, Pennsylvania. During some of the time during my stay, my father’s dad, Pap, we called him, joined us. Pap slept in my father’s bedroom, while my dad slept on the couch.

One evening, very late, I studied in the dining room, while my father watched television. Pap had gone to sleep hours before. I heard a loud sound, like a cry from Pap’s room. I jumped up to see if Pap was okay. When I reached the door of the bedroom, I could see a bright light shining from there, which stopped me in my tracks. I heard my grandfather speaking quietly. I waited for a few seconds to see if the sounds continued, but they had ceased.
Before I could enter the room, Pap jumped out of the bed to meet me in the hallway. One side of his face sagged as if he had just had a stroke. He spoke with a very broken Italian accent: “I saw Carolina (his deceased wife). She told me that God was not ready for me to come yet!”

Though his face was distorted, it shined with what the Hebrews called Shekinah Glory. This term came from a time when a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night had led Moses and the Hebrews through he desert, so that they could travel in the day and night (Exodus 13:20-22). Pap had been in the presence of such a light. Everything about his body and face shined brilliantly. He almost danced in the hallway, as he spoke, even though he apparently had a suffered a severe stroke. When you are in the presence of God’s light, whether it is around death or you having a spiritual epiphany, you never stop believing in something greater than you.

I had breakfast with a healing practitioner who has worked a great deal with palliative care. She described helping people toward their deaths. We shared stories about how beautiful the road toward death could be, when someone is ready and spiritually aware, as I, too, had worked with people moving toward the light in my practice, as well.

Having experienced this light many times, I’m not frightened of death, at all. The sting of death itself has passed by me, which is why; maybe, I have become practically fearless in the face of so many new challenges. I know what I’m capable of as a human and as a conduit of Spirit flowing in and through me. I barely ever think of negativity anymore.

But, in those rare cases, when the past caresses my soul, I take the time to understand my perceived enemy and become friends with it. I find that the more intimate I become with my own humanness and its responses to life, the more I know God.

Polishing the Silver—Surrogacy #anxiety #change #livingintheNOW

Every six months, my grandmother would take out a beautifully crafted, wooden box that contained her much prized silver. I actually don’t ever remember using it to eat, but I do recall helping her polish every last piece of a service for twelve and all of its accoutrements. The silver would be almost completely black by the time we opened the drawer. Each piece would take five to ten minutes to polish with a special solution she created with hot water, salt, and baking soda.

As we polished, we would talk about her good ole days. I loved my grandma so much, her smile, her touch, and especially her laugh. She always smelled of Jergens lotion and felt cushy to the touch. She put lotion on her hands a lot, but she would always put on enough to wrap her hands around my tiny ones and share. I always felt as if I was the only one who was important to her, though she had eighteen grandchildren.

The special love of someone loving and nurturing as a child is so important for anyone of us who was abused. Even still, we need this as adults, when we are triggered from something that brings up anxiousness or fear of losing love. I remember the huge heart that coddled me and protected me as much as she could from the pain of two parents who just couldn’t make it work and all of the effects of a dismantled childhood. But, sometimes memories are not enough. We need someone with whom to polish the silver.

Surrogacy is a great part of life. When you can’t get what you need from your family or the people closest to you, you must take the matters into your own hands and find someone who is willing to provide what you need in a surrogate way. For instance, a marriage lacks the camaraderie that keeps you fulfilled and having fun. So, you find a platonic friend who may be in the same situation and have fun with him or her. Or, you lack the love of a mother who passed away, whom you adored. So, you find a surrogate mother-type, older and loving, with whom you can secure a safe bond.

With many of my clients, a surrogate has been the perfect way to dissolve old, painful feelings from a parent who was in absentia their entire lives. And, let’s face it, without a few good friends to have fun with and share your woes, we would be lost and alone. Clubs, meet-ups, and coffee groups are the way to get out of yourself and meet new people to fill the empty spaces. Meetup.com is a perfect source to find clubs in your area. Take the steps to help yourself this week by researching ways to create the proper surrogacy in your life to maintain happiness and joy.
