Nothing worse exists in life than thinking you have the understanding and knowledge of mind to get something done and your dreams to come to truth; then, you realize that your willpower alone can do nothing permanently to change the infrastructure of your reality.
Willpower alone can only manipulate. Willpower cannot change your life or anyone else’s. You can will yourself to work harder and create bigger, but unless your creative Mind totally believes in you and in the greater Will and Purpose of the Universe, you will have little energy left when your will has come to depletion.
Ernest Holmes says this about Willpower:
If we agree that we can influence others by willpower, then we are also admitting that someone else with a greater power of will can influence us. There is no law of nature that works only one way, since all natural laws are impersonal. The temporary effects of willpower continue only so long as the will forces them to. Willpower has no real life within themselves and must disintegrate as soon as the unnatural force is withdrawn.
Wow! I look back at my life and wonder just how much I have tried to manipulate my entire life, will my career, and willpower every relationship into being what I desired; instead of allowing Divine Mind to naturally and with peaceful ease draw me to my greatest good, my perfect enlightenment, the jobs that fulfill all of my dreams, and then, ultimately, the best relationships.
I know with certainty that I have tried… to create a powerful life and a prosperous one. As most of us know from Star Wars, “Try Not!” Trying holds the power of will. And that, indeed, will disintegrate with time. No one can sustain willpower for as long as one might need to, to live an entire life in peace, with prosperity. Every manifestation in life must come from Divine Mind.
So, today, I seek to let go of all control of my will. I do allow, however, the creative thoughts from my will to be released to Divine Law, where they belong. Divine Law does the work of creativity and manifestation without any willpower of my own. This holds all the creative power to manifest the Universe. Why would it need my tiny willpower to manifest anything?
With that thought, I say, “And so it is!”
