Amazing abundance is all around you, every moment of every day. You just have to look at the trees, the ocean, the expanse of the sky, all of the created objects man has formed from his/her amazing minds, and the organic and inorganic substances that exist for us at all times. Life in the form of plants and animals and babies are growing around us all of the time. How do you stop your brain from feeling as if you are stuck and not flowing with this powerful surge of life all around you; always moving and always creating?

You will find that if you stick to the basic understand of life and confess it daily, you will be more apt to step into its abundant flow. For instance, when you wake up in the morning and confess: “This is a beautiful day made with abundance. I choose to be a part of this flow!” you immediately open your heart to growth. You cannot help but see life as possibility and chance; rather than be stuck in the same circle of insanity within which YOU THINK you dwell. The latter is not your truth. So, stop confessing it.

This is your truth: Divine Love in you is always seeking to find an outlet for love, for creativity, for abundance and, even more specifically, to give your life purpose. Finding that divine purpose in your life will immediately open your life to a brand new day, every day.

For instance, in your morning moments of quiet, before you start your day, you think about the idea that you are meant to be a loving, giving source of God’s love to the world. This is a very simply, almost generic idea of purpose, but a beautiful idea, nonetheless. If you simply walked through life with this purpose, you would discover the many people who would need your help, your concern, and certainly your compassion.

Talk to people who are happy. You will notice that they spend much of their days helping others. Happy people do not spend their days looking for new ways to make and spend money. This is a futile attempt to find happiness outside of your self. It will never work. You may need to walk that road for a while. But—

no amount of sex, extravagance, or lust for bigger, great pleasure can ever give you peace.

Most often, we have to experience this truth before we can act like the Prodigal Son and find our way back to the welcome arms of Love.

Living an abundant life is living your life to its fullest potential, whatever that may be. We do not seek for happiness and joy. Happiness and joy awaits us as we travel on the pathway of a peaceful, balanced life. Yes, sometimes you may be bored. But, guess what? Boredom is an opportunity to quietly observe the wonder around you. It is also a chance to try something new and expand your mind and horizons. Life is abundant. Come join it!

This—or Something More! #abundance

We don’t have abundance, because we don’t believe in ourselves and in Spiritual Law. We are created in the image of Spirit. These attributes include love, compassion, wisdom, creative ability, and the power to move mountains. If we operate in the abundance of God’s attributes in all aspects of our lives—especially when we dream and believe—we will create that to which we put our minds.

I have been doing a lot of dreaming in the past six months. I spend almost ninety minutes a day meditating. When I sit still to contemplate life, I always take with me an inspirational statement to repeat when my Insight Timer goes off (I set it to ring a chime every four minutes). Repeating this positive statement creates power for my soul. As I fortify my mind with creative thought and strong words, I exchange my weak, human thoughts for spiritual law.

Fortifying your mind with spiritual law can help change your world. Respond to a habit, a negative situation, or poverty with a statement that says who you are and your ability to change your situation. Instead of a negative thought that only fortifies the bad situation, you slowly, but surely plant seeds in the Subjective mind field of possibility.

After you plant a seed on earth, you don’t sit around and wait for it to grow. You let it go and release it to the law that states: When I plant a seed in rich soil and water it. With love and sunlight, all seeds will grow. If I know this truth, I don’t worry about trying to make the seed grow. I release it to the Law! As I do so, I release my own consciousness to state of thanksgiving and love.

When I do this with thoughts of abundance and wholeness, even more of what I want comes to my life without fail. My prayer becomes: “God, I know that Spiritual Law says that I can create as you and in you. I’m thankful for the right to use your Heavenly Credit Line. So, I believe with all my heart that you have already begun to grow my dream, NOW. I release my dream to the Law, knowing that you will provide this or something more. And so it is!”

Prosperity--The Law of #poverty!

I had the most amazing meditation this morning. I have been asking, before I enter into this blissful state, for something specific. Today, I asked the question before my meditation began, “Spirit, teach me something I don’t know about the universe and living as a human being!”

Below, is the response I got from my meditation:

The presiding theme was that I cannot take from God what God rightfully and delightfully wants to give me. A scripture from Proverbs came to mind: (paraphrased) If a man is caught stealing, he shall have to repay seven fold that which he took.

For so many years, I thought that everyone and everything from life was stealing from me, which is the story of lack and poverty. This certainly isn’t a story of God’s son who has inherited the wealth of Universal Abundance. I would profess this scripture in hopes that 7 fold would return to me. (Just 7-fold would be enough… nothing more.) But, what my meditation said was that “no one can steal what is already theirs.” If you are one with all Abundance, then everything is yours. Reciprocally, everything is also everyone else’s, too. We all are beneficiaries of God’s divine abundance.

But, humans have been like children fighting over the possessions of a rich parent. Instead of sharing gratefully, we want to procure that which is only ours and hold on to it with the control of a narcissist.

The meditation went on to reveal more about the subject of prosperity. This last Sunday, as I held my offering in my hand, I heard a voice say to me, “Put it back in your pocket!” I asked why.

The voice answer, “You still have resentment in your heart about giving.” So, I took the cash and stuffed it back in my pocket as the basket passed me. I’m sure the people around me thought I was being selfish, but I didn’t care. Spirit’s lesson was more important to me, than what others thought about me.

So, the meditation brought that important moment to mind. The same voice asked, “So, if all of the money in the world is rightfully yours and all the of the money in the world is rightfully the church’s, why are you so afraid to let go? More importantly, if you proclaim to be the hand of God here on this earth, how can I use you, if you won’t let go of the gifts I have given you?”

Of course, my thought was that I still have fear about not having enough. (As my old story, as a child, was that I was a very poor young boy, barely having enough to eat, most weeks and never having enough to buy nice clothes.)

But in that moment, something changed in my heart. I realized that I don’t tithe because it’s a law. As a spiritual child of the universe tithes to demonstrate to ourselves and to the universe that we understand spiritual law and are not afraid of our abundance being limited by sharing a portion of our perceived riches.

I finally got it. I received the message that will, I’m sure, release my mind totally from my old story of poverty. I will give more freely than I have ever given before now.

If I want to share in the abundance of the universe, I need to show Spirit, and more importantly, I need to show myself, I have no fear of being poor, ever again. I do this by freely giving of the abundance of God, as I am the hand of God here on earth.

Yesterday, I had one letter to mail. In these days of Internet, e-mail, and Facebook, I don’t find myself using the post office much, especially to mail just one letter. My mother of 82, however, always has a book of stamps. She happens to be in Florida right now. She has gone ahead of me while I take care of the business of selling my home. I had 20 minutes before my next client, so I went on the ten-minute ride to our local post office. When I got there, an elderly pastor from Unity, whom I hadn’t seen in four years, walked out of the building. I knew in that moment that I was supposed to be in that parking lot for this divine appointment. This woman is spiritual power exemplified. Once, I was grieving about something. She simply touched me and spoke a prayer over me, and I literally felt someone tore the grief away. Powerful woman of God!

I was still in my car on my cell phone, trying to quickly end the call before she drove away. I rushed to her automobile and knocked on the window. She said in a very southern accent, “Why, is that you, Bo Sebastian? Goodness sakes alive, age sure does suit you well.”

Who can resist a compliment like that? She got out of her car and gave me the biggest hug. Immediately, she remarked, “Well, I never use this post office. But, today, I needed a money order, which I also never need, so I felt led to come here.”
I admitted, “I believe the reason was for me.” I told her I had been grieving leaving Nashville, and how difficult it had been to sell my home. I shared that the transition was making my spirit very fearful and doubt had set in.

She said, “You know, Bo, fear is just like atheism! Disbelief means you just don’t trust God. Our Lord in heaven wants abundance for all his beautiful children. It’s as simple as that.” Then, without hesitation, she put her hands on me and started praying, like a Pentecostal woman, but she used Unity language. She and I have that in common: we were both raised Pentecostal, but opted for New Thought in the end.

Afterwards, I couldn’t get the words: “Fear is like atheism” out of my mind. It was as if she had branded them to my heart. The entire next two hours, I kept repeating to myself, like a chant, “Fear is like atheism.” Now, I have to say that I don’t care if you are an atheist. It doesn’t bother me when someone has a different belief than I. You are going to be just fine, figuring out your way in this world without the word God. I simply know that for you.

Sometimes, even the word God is misused and abused. So, I understand why people turn away; especially, GLBT people who have been disenfranchised from God and church, simply because of their sexual preference. It’s no wonder you have to hide spirituality in the closet these days, more than being gay.

But, the point here is living an abundant life. You simply can’t do that without the belief that you deserve all that you have, all that you will receive, and the reciprocity from all that you have given in the past. A storehouse exists for all of us and is just waiting for you to use your spiritual bankcard to receive from heaven all the prosperity that you need. I have always believed that. Because I’ve believed in this premise, I have never been without. Not ever! I’m 53 years old, and whenever I want something, it manifests. I have to say that the lottery hasn’t come, but I have had more than enough to survive and live a life that looks very prosperous, even if I have to barter for things in life. I never limit God. So, this fear that had befallen me, of late, is an uncommon feeling. I don’t like it at all.

When my friend prayed her prayer, my fear didn’t disappear, though. I had to mull on her words and wonder why I felt so estranged from the loving arms of Spirit and the universe. Let’s face it; change is difficult. Moving is one of the most terrifying changes anyone can face in life. Moving is even harder than divorce and facing a death of a loved one. Moving changes everything in your life. Every single thing!

My heart sometimes feels like the world has tromped on it and given it back to me to revive on a daily basis. I have been travelling this road of moving for six weeks now, and every day seems to get more difficult. This is the day, life is going to change. Here’s what I did to make that happen:

1.) I went through every room in my house and put aside in a pile, every article of clothing, kitchen gadget, electronic gismo, and pretty stuff, I bought to fluff up the house.
2.) I made three piles. One pile to give to someone who is in need one pile to sell, and one pile to store in a place other than my home.
3.) I took down every piece of artwork and released all gifts that were from any exes in my life and sold them to the highest bidder.
4.) Lastly, I asked some friends for help. This was probably the hardest part for me. I am usually the one helping people. I hate feeling helpless. But, it takes a village to live as a human on this earth. We all must have our rocks that we lean on, once in a while. Three friends are coming over tomorrow morning to help me with the rest of the big stuff.

I actually do feel completely different as a result of rethinking my life. As I have made room for prosperity and purged the negativity from my home, I feel, now, that it will sell immediately.

Are You a Limiter?

Limit comes from one belief, your idea of God and your relationship to that power.

If you believe that God is a judgmental God and that you are rewarded by the good that you do, you will constantly be working to prove that you are good enough to have any thing in your life.

If you believe that God has no relationship to humanity, then you would have the belief that if you work hard enough, than anything is possible. But you may also believe in the cold, truthful fact that the world is just as harsh as it is good, even to those who work hard. More people lose investments with their time and money than people who gain.

If you believe that God is unlimited good and that this unlimited good is always willing to lead you into abundance, then there is a chance you may create an unlimited point of view for yourself.

Belief about yourself and about anything in your mind is what standardizes truth in your life. You can’t stand on abundance principals that you don’t really believe with your full heart and mind. Your foundation will crumble, if you do. You will fall into old thought and belief. Therefore, you will end up changing any chance of executing the divine plan for your life.

You see, one of the foundations of seeing God as unlimited good is to be able to get out of the human paradigm mind long enough to become the observer of the faulty and tricky thoughts that the mind has collected over the years of your life. These thoughts are like data glitches in a computer. I have one right now. Every time I get to about the 40^th line of my blog, a big black square comes out over my screen. I have no idea where it comes from. I have to clear the screen and put my curser back in place to get it go away.

I could continue to type with the big black square in the way, but I would be writing with my ideas covered and my thoughts blackened. Every night, it’s a reminder to me that I must always write my truths and stay in the light.

The brain holds all the data from your life, good and bad. It can manipulate you into thinking you are not good enough, smart enough, talented enough, or savvy enough to have abundance in your life. I’m here to tell you that a human brain can be changed. To my delight, darkness can be turned into foundational light that can lead you to compassion and truth. But the key is to understand how to get into your compassionate observer mind.

Self-hypnosis is the key to unlocking this paradigm in every human brain. Science and neurobiology is discovering new ways to override the old thought patterns of the brain using these trance types of tools.

Your brain and your body is a tool that can be used by your highest self—your spirit—to control your life. So, when limitation comes knocking at your door, you can say to it, “Sorry, I’m not buying what you have to sell. You only see what your brain and body tell you. You may be telling me things about yourself, but you can’t tell me things about myself. I am the controller of my own brain and body!”

If you can honestly say that now, then you are on the road to ridding your life of lack and limitation.
