To Learn How to Think Is to Learn How to Live #DivineMind #ScienceofMind #SOM #SpiritualLiving

One of the most beautiful concepts of Centers of Spiritual Living is that these Centers embrace all spiritual walks that promote love and peace. We say in our explanation of our truth that “We teach people HOW to think; not WHAT to think!” This is the biggest difference between religion and spirituality, in my estimation.

Learning how to think is defining the way one can live in a unified manner in a world that is diverse and complex. But because everything that has been manifested came from one Source, there is within each of us a unifying factor. To this end, if we discover within ourselves this unifying force, we learn to live in harmony with all other beings and with nature.

More importantly, for the world to exist in harmony without our own consciousness actually taking part, there must be a Law of Harmony that exists underneath all of that which is manifest in the universe. This Law supersedes all of the thinking man can do, because, if we do not know the way to think that brings about manifestation, we literally walk around on this earth subject to all things created; instead of being subject to one thing only; God and the Law, which are actually One!

Nothing I write about, especially lately, is all that easy to understand. If you have not been on a pathway of self-realization, these concepts will sound archaic and, quite possibly, puzzling. But, I assure you, that if you have begun in a path of self-realization, which is the only path toward true spirituality, then you will understand the need to think in a way that actually teaches you to manifest in the order in which God has laid out from the beginning of time.

For example: If a man desires to be a farmer and plant in the rich fields of the earth (the character played by Eddie Albert in “Green Acres” comes to mind), it wouldn’t matter the amount of money, education, or desire he had. The only fact that would matter is if he planted according to the Law. Some of these laws in planting would be 1. the right seeds for the climate; 2. planting at the right time; 3. watering when necessary; and 4. perhaps, enriching the soil with the right nutrients. These laws are necessary simply to manifest the plants. To get a harvest that is viable, we have to follow even more laws. Right? So, saying that understanding the law (knowing HOW to think) is imperative in our spiritual life is an absolute if we follow this metaphor, which is set out by even Jesus, the great Master Teacher.

We can have all the desire in the world to manifest prosperity or health. But if we keep saying to the universe, “I am poor and undeserving.” In this case, the universe or the Law has no choice but to answer our belief. This humble statement does nothing to glorify or magnify Spirit. It especially does nothing to manifest in reality anything from the Soul or the Subjective Matter of the universe that answers to the call of right thinking.

So, today, take the time to watch your thoughts and listen to what you speak into your life. Reflect on these thoughts and begin to extinguish the negative aspects—one by one—until your subconscious is free of the negativity that has produced your manifest life thus far. Then, and only then, will you begin to manifest abundance with freedom and joy!

The Reaction of the Mechanical to the Volitional #volition #wisdom #spiritualadvice #spirituality #SOM

My theme for a short while is going to be how “Love rules through Law.” Today, I want to help you understand the mechanics of how we use our personal mind to discover new ideas and make them our own. This is the reaction of the Mechanical (without the use of our mind) to the Volitional (using our mind).

To understand any mystery we must first perceive it as a physical or mental truth. Once we discovery anything new or different in the world, we can then use our will (or volition) to invite our minds to comprehend it. Of course, many levels of comprehension exist. We don’t have to be a doctor of medicine to know how an antibiotic works.

This second part is the volitional process of understanding any concept. With our brain and mind, we can observe and then comprehend anything new and unusual in the world. But, specifically, in terms of spiritual concepts or Laws in the universe, we FIRST must notice them—see them—experience them—to realize that they, indeed, have existence. Then, once we determine their reality, we can invite our volitional process to begin the internal search of how this Law works on our own behalf.

This is how your own mind takes and perceives a Universal Law and then uses the Truth found in the Law for your own personal use.

Let’s take, for instance, the Law of Vacuum Technology. Where there is a vacuum, for instance, a bag of coffee that has had the air removed, we initially perceive the internal contents of that bag to be hard, like a piece of wood. You can take this bag of coffee and tap it on the countertop. It sounds as if you are using a mallet. Then, simply open the top of the bag of coffee and introduce AIR to the contents, and what do you get? A bag of soft coffee. 

Tap that soft bag of coffee on the counter, and you’ll have a completely different sound.

So, a law existed here about Vacuum Technology that you may or may not have ever seen before. In the bag of coffee, before it was opened, it had been vacuumed sealed, which means all of the air or space had been removed, causing the contents to be denser and APPEAR to be smaller in size; when, in fact, the coffee remained the same.

When you opened the seal of the coffee bag, air automatically entered the internal space of the bag and increased the volume of the matter inside—the coffee. If you didn’t know what “vacuum sealed” was, this seemingly solid bag of coffee turning soft within moments would be like a miracle or a trick of some sort. It takes the human mind to perceive space expanding, first. Then, through intrigue and the desire to comprehend the law of vacuum technology, we can volitionally use our minds to make this law our own. The same concept happens with Spiritual Law.

You don’t need to know the intricacies of the law of Volumetric Flow or Gas Density to see the change in the coffee. However, if should you decide to understand this process and use it for yourself, you may need to begin to study Kinetic Gas Theory to help you understand the process more fully, so that you can use this concept for your own benefit. I believe, this is where most people STOP their spiritual growth.

Once you realize you have to understand something to use it, we often make the choice to let others who have dedicated their lives to studying the law do our work for us. Alas, we use practitioners to pray for us, ministers to teach us, and doctors of spirituality to share the deeper meanings of truth. But, when we let go of our own mind and use the minds of others to pray and, more importantly, to understand and embrace spiritual law, we miss out on the very important process of Volition. To use a law, we can’t just perceive it, we must begin to understand how it works as well.

So, today, I would love for you to let go of the idea that the Law of Spirituality is too difficult to understand. I’m going to make it very simple with examples and easy ways to use these laws in your life. But, you have to make a choice to let me help you. More importantly, open your mind to something new.

This—or Something More! #abundance

We don’t have abundance, because we don’t believe in ourselves and in Spiritual Law. We are created in the image of Spirit. These attributes include love, compassion, wisdom, creative ability, and the power to move mountains. If we operate in the abundance of God’s attributes in all aspects of our lives—especially when we dream and believe—we will create that to which we put our minds.

I have been doing a lot of dreaming in the past six months. I spend almost ninety minutes a day meditating. When I sit still to contemplate life, I always take with me an inspirational statement to repeat when my Insight Timer goes off (I set it to ring a chime every four minutes). Repeating this positive statement creates power for my soul. As I fortify my mind with creative thought and strong words, I exchange my weak, human thoughts for spiritual law.

Fortifying your mind with spiritual law can help change your world. Respond to a habit, a negative situation, or poverty with a statement that says who you are and your ability to change your situation. Instead of a negative thought that only fortifies the bad situation, you slowly, but surely plant seeds in the Subjective mind field of possibility.

After you plant a seed on earth, you don’t sit around and wait for it to grow. You let it go and release it to the law that states: When I plant a seed in rich soil and water it. With love and sunlight, all seeds will grow. If I know this truth, I don’t worry about trying to make the seed grow. I release it to the Law! As I do so, I release my own consciousness to state of thanksgiving and love.

When I do this with thoughts of abundance and wholeness, even more of what I want comes to my life without fail. My prayer becomes: “God, I know that Spiritual Law says that I can create as you and in you. I’m thankful for the right to use your Heavenly Credit Line. So, I believe with all my heart that you have already begun to grow my dream, NOW. I release my dream to the Law, knowing that you will provide this or something more. And so it is!”

The Law of Impermanence

You have heard it said that the only thing that doesn’t change is change! Nothing tangible is permanent, lasting, or stays the same. Everything in the created world is subject to this law of impermanence, but one thing: Spiritual Law, which doesn’t change.

I can say that spiritual law is immutable because it has been around since the worlds were called into existence—by Its own existence. So, if we need to understand one thing in the world, we should make that one thing the thing itself—spiritual law.

Since I was a tiny child, spirituality always intrigued me. I wondered what God looked like, sounded like, and felt like. I tested human law until it became fallible. Then I compared my humanity with that which doesn’t change, until I came to a place where I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that God had placed into existence something inside of me and inside of every other spirit on earth that allowed access to this undercurrent.

I sensed my oneness with humanity, my oneness with the ocean and the dessert, and my oneness with all things spiritual. All I ever wanted was to know my heavenly parent. I never wanted to be like the prodigal child in the bible. I wanted to be THE child, who knew from the beginning, who the gracious father was in the story. I didn’t want to be lost. So, I secured a spiritual path long before most of my peers.

I began to hitchhike to church at seven, when everyone in my family had lost hope in a higher power. The first spiritual small group I attended, there were only two people under 35—the girl who invited me and I. Cultivating a spiritual path in the midst of people who thought I was a loon for believing in anything that they couldn’t see was difficult, but an even greater task was having no one that even resembled a spiritual template in life. Yet, something inside propelled me forward to awaken that which only Spirit can encourage.

So, understanding law and accepting the impermanence of everything around you is a foreign language to most people. So, don’t take anything you read or feel too seriously. We all are learning the best we can. You’re about to change this instant. Yes, even the way you believe and how you manage your spiritual life consistently changes. You life must enter into impermanence as soon as it becomes a part of the ephemeral world. My belief is that our reality keeps showing us not to trust the tangible, so that we will reach inside for a deeper meaning. That is what I know for you, who are reading this Discovery today.

If you want to invest your time and meditation in anything, let it be focusing in on the mutable, unchangeable spiritual law of the universe.

Building Your Authentic Life

In the Christian bible Jesus says that a good builder doesn’t build his home on sand, but on something solid. (Math. 7: 24-27) So, what on earth is more solid than rock? However, when we talk about building an authentic life, we refer less to the mechanics of mortar and brick and much more to the structure of your life. So, can you think of something mentally or spiritually solid on which to build your life?

I know that Jesus was a storyteller of parables. He mastered the art of teaching on many different levels of understanding. So, when he talked about a good builder having a plan or a blueprint first, this, also was a metaphor. So, we have two metaphors to understand, before we can actually begin to build our new, authentic life.

Let’s look at the first one. Rock is by every definition in our tangible world, the densest of earthly materials. So, we must build our mental life with something that has the ability to have a solid base, unwavering. What do we know of in life that doesn’t change? This is the conundrum.

Can we build our authentic life on the “concept” of Change. So, although change itself isn’t a solid base, the “concept” of change is. It is the constant that we search for. So, let’s start from there.

We begin to lay the foundation of our new life based on the idea that everything changes. With that knowledge, what kind of mortar and bricks do we need?

Life would indicate we need to build authenticity on the idea that “even the greatest of plans can be washed away by a flood or a storm.” So, tangible substance and prosperity cannot be the mortar and bricks or our lives. We need a substance that is less likely to fold and crumble.

So, we go back to the drawing board and try to imagine an ephemeral substance that can stand the test of constant change and land on the perfect structure substance: Spiritual Law. We know that everything on this earth has come from Divine Mind and expressed or out-pressed from this Spiritual Law. So, law has lasted through time. Let’s begin to build our new life with the bricks and mortar of spiritual law.

Here are some of the spiritual laws we know to be true:

• Ask and it shall be given to you.
• Seek and you shall find.
• Knock and the door shall be opened to you.
• Be the salt and light of the world.
• Seek for love, compassion, and peace.

Could Jesus have been telling us to have goals that are based more on intangible things, than building castles and skyscrapers? I would think so.

So, when you begin to dream your new life this week, let’s start with some spiritual, intangible goals. Write them down and imagine that this is the structure on which you will build your new life.

We will get to how we can create from this law, tangible effects that utilize all of our talents and dreams on earth in the next Discovery.

Kingdom Life

Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be a prince or a princess? Does a crown of jewels on your head make you think of royalty and riches? Or does the Queen of England in her somber state come to mind, looking rather bothered by the entire world of pomp and circumstance?

I’m more inclined to think of what I would feel like having all the riches and abundance available that I could possibly want, with servants accomplishing things I desire to get done, but couldn’t do by myself. With this in mind, I think of Jesus’ peculiar words: “The kingdom of God is inside of you!” What exactly does that mean?

The only way to imagine that the kingdom is within you is to believe that you are royalty. A person can marry into royalty, or he or she must be of the family lineage. So, you and I are made of God, from Spirit, in the image of Creator—we are, indeed, from the lineage of the King. Simple. You now are a prince or a princess. No one has to grant you any privileges but yourself.

The next thing we would need to know is what kind of laws permit us to have and to do in this kingdom? This metaphor applies to us by knowing the spiritual laws that were pronounced to us by the Master Teacher, Jesus. For example: “Ask, believing, and it shall be given unto you. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door will be opened unto you.” All of these statements are spiritual laws. Each of them applies to you as a child of the kingdom.

Let’s take the first law: Ask, believing, and it shall be given unto you. If you knew without a shadow a doubt—like commanding a servant to get you breakfast and knowing it would be served to you promptly—you could proclaim and believe in your heart and mind what could happen in your present and in the future, simply by speaking a command and believing it.

So, if you say, “I am stupid and don’t deserve shit,” then, my friend, shit is what you will receive from the law.

However, if you say, “I am a child of the king,” knowing your clout as royalty, and request: “I believe with all my heart that prosperity has come to my house now from ways that I don’t even understand. I’m thankful for this law. I trust this law as much as I trust that morning will come after night, every day, because of this same law.”

Then, and only then, will this law work in favor of you. Today, think about your royal blood. Imagine all day that you are a child of the most high. How different would you act? How much would you ask of the world? Would you be a compassionate prince or princess? Would you want the law to work for everyone, or just yourself?

When you finally feel the kingdom in your heart, I promise, you will manifest just about anything you want in this world. God is ready and waiting to give you the kingdom.
