One Mind #treatment #duality #DivineMind #ScienceofMind #SpiritualLiving

How difficult is it to believe that One Mind made the entire universe? Most of us, in fact 84% of the world, believe that a power exists that is called God. If we breakdown what we believe, we would consider that there was a source of power (God) that decided it wanted to create. Hence, it spoke its word into the depths of the darkness (the creative Mind). The worlds were, then, created. No one knows how long this took. Scientists and creationists would fight about this fact. But, ultimately, that fact simply doesn’t matter, when you when you consider the grandiosity that we speak of.

My point, though, is that there had to be a PLACE to create; otherwise, there would be no universe. In some cultures, for instance, the Tao would say that the darkness is sacred, because from the darkness—in the darkness—the universe formed. I would have to agree with this premise, because this unused energy was readily available for God to create. Since we are made in the image of God, hence the offspring of God, we may create using this same energy as well.

This place is called One Mind. This is the one place that everyone in totality shares, because it was out of this matter we, too, were created. Or, as it is said “we were in the mind of God” at the beginning. So, how hard is it to stretch your belief one step further to imagine that this One Mind, because it is shared by all, can also be used to treat or help others?

For me, it seems right and just that God would provide a place for all of us to converge to help each other, regain strength, and even, perhaps, gain insight together.

I speak a lot about meditation and encourage you, almost daily, to meditate. But, the place IN MIND that you must go to make all of this happen is not in your body. It is not in your brain. It is, however, in the part of your Consciousness that observes and dreams. So, if you can imagine a friend’s cancer healed, that person should be able to feel your thoughts, because we share One Mind.

You may have already experienced this with a close friend or relative. You are so tightly knit, that you know each other’s thoughts and feelings. I have a few friends like this. I believe the reason I feel them and sense their thoughts is because I think about them often. When I imagine them, my mind and their minds unity. When this happens, we experience the same thoughts and feelings.

This is why many people praying at the same time is an effective way to make change. The power of prayer exponentially grows when the intention of many people come together in one place–IN ONE MIND. If you have ever experienced thousands of people praying together, you would know what I mean.

So, today, simply think about exiting your self-thoughts and entering into a place of One Mind. Simply imagine the possibility of unity. That’s all that it takes to begin this process.

Diversity Proceeds from Unity #Unity #InfiniteMind #spiritualadvice #diversity #SOM

Today’s lesson is about how from one Divine Principle and Source, many different people can glean perfectly beautiful and individual results. From love comes every diverse creature on earth.

The vast struggle with spirituality is the thought that one must give up his/her own individuality for One greater good. Today’s lesson contends that your individuality is perfectly fine—AS IS. In fact, your individuality is what allows many different facets of beauty to exist in the world. It is from One Divine Source that all proceeds, but each individual mind draws to itself what it needs to survive, to be happy, content, and enjoy life. The goal of Love is for all to have all of our basic needs fulfilled. Nothing selfish exists in gathering these principles from the one Creative Intelligence.

This is where some people will begin to say that spirituality is Hocus Pocus. But, I contend that spirituality is Definite and almost scientific, in so much as it is based on Law that cannot be altered. When you go to a Source for energy and plug yourself into it, you use the energy of the Whole to get your individual portion. There is no magic to this process. However, if you spend your life having a plug, seeing an outlet, but never plugging into Source, you will never be able to have your portion—ever!

So, from this one loving and unified source of Power, comes every individual mind and talent. Alas, from Unity, comes diversity in all shapes, colors, and sizes. How magnificent is Love?

The Strength in Unity Below the Surface

An ancient Chinese proverb exists that basically shares the reason why Redwood trees have lasted so long on the earth. They grow for years without dying or being destroyed, even in the midst of earthquakes, hurricanes, and flooding. The reason is that the tree’s roots immediately begin to extend down and out, looking for other Redwood tree roots to connect with. When another is found, the first tree winds its roots around the older tree, creating a deep, inner connection beneath the soil, so strong that little can destroy the powerful unity that merges them together.

I love this image. Even the smallest of Redwood trees are protected by this interlocking system deep within the earth’s bosom. How much can we learn from this wonderful metaphor?

In the last six months I have learned more about my spiritual self and the laws of spirituality than I have my entire life. Of course, one of the reasons is that I have taken 6-9 months off from work to focus in on this Encore Career time of my life. Before this began, I committed to beginning my life anew in Florida, only taking with me from my past those things and people who have served my life in a powerful, authentic, and meaningful way. I sold or gave away almost a half of what I owned. I moved into a much smaller and much cheaper place to live, though I’m certain everyday I have exchanged excess for even more beauty and lots less responsibility.

With the start of a new life and a new beginning, we all must learn to build on a firm foundation. I began this foundation for my move three months before I packed one article. I began to build with meditation and prayer. Each day, I would create a log of people, places, and things that needed to be dealt with in my present life. I, also, kept a journal on my computer of dreams I wanted to create in my future. The two paths intersected and merged in many ways to manifest what I am now living.

What I have noticed, though, with this new, stronger intentional living is that the more I wish to garner in my life, the stronger my roots must be. Not only stronger, but my roots need to have this interconnection of family and spiritual friends to truly ground me in so many wonderful ways.

As winds inevitably come to try and knock down anyone’s intentions, we must always depend on the strength that we initially placed in the foundation of what we built. Much like the engineer who imagines a building as high as the Trade Towers. If he has faith in the foundation, the structure itself will never fail.

This novel chronicles my stay in New York City in a somewhat cultish home with unique and powerful prayer warriors. I created a fictional twist to make the story burst from the pages when an outsider falls in love the character, who most mirrors my life. Two Different Modalities of #Meditation

I was looking for a great recipe for pickling beets and found that one of the ingredients for pickling was MACE. I thought, how could “pepper spray” used for deterring thieves and attackers be edible? Of course, after just a minute on Google, I realized the mace has two names—one for the chemical and one for the ground outer shell of nutmeg, used in seasoning.

As in many things in life we have one word meaning two things, one street having two names, which is confusing as hell, and the worst of these is identical twins with different names! If you’re identical, shouldn’t share a name? Just kidding. (I think I had too much coffee this morning after my three-hour meditation. I needed something to awaken me after the long, beautiful, luxurious meditation.)

My time with spirit—out of my body—seems to get sweeter and sweeter every day I practice. I also seem to want to stay in the meditation and not return to my body. Today, I will share two different modalities of meditation. Same name—just two different intentions, like pickling—Meditation with a Purpose and Meditation for Peace.

Meditation with a Purpose
Before I begin to relax my body, I set a divine intention. Some examples of intentions are listed below. You can write your own, once you understand the concept:
  • As Wisdom, I am directed to truth in this meditation on my path to success.
  • Spirit God is all wholeness, strength and abundance. I recognize these attributes in myself now.
  • Divine Mind works inevitably through me to will and to do that which I’m thankful to contribute to the world through my talents.
  • All of my negative feelings show me my human fears, so that I can resolve my disbelief and walk toward oneness with God.
After I speak my initial intention aloud, I make sure that I have a shorter, more concise version of my intention to repeat to myself when the interval bell rings. (I use an App called “Insight Timer” that rings 3 bells every five minutes to keep my mind awake, but my body asleep). The shorter version I say internally, without speaking aloud, as not to awaken the body. As, most people’s mind wander during the first few five-minute intervals, you want to have this short affirmation memorized, to repeat to yourself when the bell rings.
Some examples are below:
  • I am successful now, and nothing or no one can hinder this.
  • Divine love draws together and holds together those who belong together.
  • I am one with all attributes of God.
  • Every part of my body is whole and complete now.
This is one very simple and effect way of meditating without feeling as if you have done something wrong, because your mind wouldn’t settle. Everything in this meditation is completely mapped out.

Meditation II
Another option for meditation is take an issue or a problem and ask yourself these questions, before you get quiet:
  • What do I feel when I consider what just happened to me?
  • Do I believe I should try to let go of the feeling?
  • Could a delicate gift exist in the recognition and reparation of this feeling or problem?
Once you ask the questions, you sit in the quiet and wait for an answer. So, you notice that both meditations carry an intention, but one waits in the silence for an answer, and one is called a creative meditation or a dreaming meditation.
I feel that most people err in their initial meditations, by just trying to be quiet. The mind is a complex network of neural pathways always firing, no matter how hard you try NOT to think. The process of meditation is more about getting above your thoughts, or listening, than it is quieting the mind.

Creating Separation

As a student of Spirit, I feel as if I have erred in my thinking about unity and individuality. Today, instead of creating a new religion around my Ego beliefs, I want to be all-inclusive. I intend to know that whom I attract is exactly what God intends. The words we so carefully choose to make us separate, but equal, may only causing more separation.

Think about the words we can use to describe ourselves. I’m Gay. I’m an artist. I’m a writer. I’m a man. I’m a metaphysician. I’m a clinical hypnotherapist. I’m a romantic. I’m an entrepreneur. All of these terms individualize me from the whole. This separatism isn’t what we need right now in the world. We can be individuals without dividing ourselves and our beliefs into sectarian communities. We can’t create unity by opposing everyone around us.

The truth is: I’m trying to find a way to be accurately individual and be a part of the whole without having to express my differences. I had a dream last night in which someone was bible-thumping at me. I got very angry in the dream and reamed the person who was Ego-tizing the bible. Yet, I see so many times as I have offered my own belief in the metaphors of life, I have often done exactly the same.

The key question here is: am I trying to separate myself from everyone else with my opinions, or draw them together? I came to Florida with a large intent to help the many gay people who have been disenfranchised from religion and spirituality. I wanted to help them on the way to find a unique version of spirituality that only a gay man or woman can have with God. But, I see, that none of these gay people have asked for my help. By offering my help I’m only confirming that something needs to be fixed in God’s world.

I don’t believe that anything needs to be fixed in God’s world. What needs to be changed or altered is our own, individual minds that seek to see only the effects of the world and not the premise that God is the author and finisher of all! The world offers many chances to separate ourselves, but only few chances to come together and see truth as It Is.

We can’t begin to “fix” anyone if we think the world needs fixing. It doesn’t. Our perception of the world needs to be changed. When we see that everything operates in divine order, we know that the only perception that needs fixing is our own Ego ideations. When we get that we are God incarnate, we realize that the only hand of God that reaches out from the heavens is God in You. The only prayers offered to this world are offered THROUGH you. So, if you want to make change, stop separating yourself from the whole. See you and me as one wonderful creation of God, always moving toward our perfection together. This is God! This is spiritual law. This is divine unity in action.
If we start from here, seeing the whole complete and changed, operating as One in Spirit, we can begin to treat for change in the effects of the world now.

We Can Be One Two-gether

We Can Be One Two-gether

When a person thinks about being one with someone, he/she usually imagines that person being his/her mate. When a person imagines togetherness, we often think about family and the tight bonds that blood brings. But when any two people develop an intimate connection, in essence, we actually rediscover our oneness with that person.

If you believe that we were all together with God before the worlds were formed, then, at one point outside of time, all spirits were merged with God. If this is true, then what we experience as separateness and segregation is really an illusion based on human principles and beliefs. The truth about all that exists is truly unity.

When spirit comes into body, it individuates. Every individual has a separate body and a unique personality or ego. But what happens when we close our eyes and gather in a circle? At the center of everyone involved is one exponentially large vision. It seems that the ego self merges into the larger Unified Self, which increases as people gather with the same purpose.

I believe when Jesus said that “where two or more are gathered, there I am,” He was considering the power of the Unified One. This would be like taking a crystal and shattering it. Each individual shard would be beautiful in its own right, but if parts of the whole connected together to reunite, more magnificence and power would be displayed—especially, if we consider the power and ability for crystal to hold memory and to refract light.

It seems a secret exists in the thought of unity. An entire religion is called Unity, based on practical Christian principles. In fact, Unity’s originator, Charles Fillmore, called it Practical Christianity. This religion has two very close cousins—The Centers of Spiritual Living and Christian Science. All three religions came as a result of a small group of spiritual visionaries studying together in the late 1800s. Out of this group splintered the three churches, which all have similar beliefs.

Practical Christianity or New Thought is basically an idea that the bible has more than a literal meaning. In fact, parables in the bible have strong metaphoric meaning as do the lives and stories of the bible’s characters going all the way back to Adam and Eve. Meta- means “out from.” So, believing in metaphysical principles of the bible would mean that you literally lift yourself out from the original meaning and strive for deeper and more experiential meaning.

I used to be a Pentecostal preacher who believed in the literal and only literal meaning of the bible. But even then, I was always searching in the Lexicon and Concordance for other meanings and translations because I would tend to come up empty when comparing the scriptures with my personal belief. I think that almost every preacher or biblical scholar initially begins his/her study to prove a point outside of tradition. I wanted to believe that God was bigger and more loving than I was taught as a young Christian. I wanted to believe that God had a better plan that heaven and hell, and as a Catholic for a time—purgatory.

As a result, I left religion for a while to study on my own. I realized that almost every religion had its unifying beliefs. At their core were very similar desires—to love, to unite, to heal, to give, to dwell in peace, and to gain compassion. No matter what religion you choose, there is one commonality—the idea of unity. When two or more are gathered in one belief, they create power.

Some have proven over the years that power can be dominated by ego and transform undeniable belief into evil and death.

So, finding one’s own authentic belief based on comfort, security, study, and ultimately, the heart’s leading, should precede unifying with others. Even then, I believe there will come times when you need to reach out to another belief or go inside to dig deeper where only God dwells solely with you.

Either way, your spiritual walk is based on your oneness with others and a total commitment to finding your deepest commitment to life, your brothers and sisters, and God.
