Putting on Avoirdupois (Holiday Eating) #weightgain #weightloss #diet #unity #SpiritualLiving

I lived a large part of my life in the south, where people find the “polite” way of saying nasty things, mostly when the things themselves are meant to sting. When I saw the term, avoirdupois, in my daily reading, I thought, this is probably a word that began its use in the south. It is an old measure of weight for wool, but was used in England and in the early 1900s in the states to mean someone who was putting on the pounds. Alas, “He was putting on the avoirdupois like nobody's business!” was something you might hear behind someone’s back who was gaining weight.

Of course, after having had my own weight issues for a few years and even, perhaps, a bit of body dysmorphia about it, I wondered just how many people are entering a time of year when their primary worry is about how many pounds they will gain during the holiday. I know it has run through my mind, especially since I am starting out the season five pounds overweight. So, this means, if my usual 10 pound gain over the holidays happens, I will be 15 pounds overweight. In January, I am looking to have to spend two entire months doing extra aerobics, eating salads everyday, and doing more sit ups than I’d care to do. Is it really worth it?

I am hoping that I can convince myself, before the season, to stop this habit before I gain too much weight. At Thanksgiving, I tried something new and actually maintained homeostasis. In other words, I neither gained nor lost, primarily because I simply ate turkey, ham, vegetables and salad for dinner with only one spoonful of lasagna. Then, when it came time for dessert, I had a 1/2 slice of pumpkin pie. That is what I ate for the entire day, except at night, when I ate a 1/2 piece of apple pie without the crust.

Can you see the way I’m working here? I am getting the taste of the delicious parts, without the heavy carbohydrates accumulating faster than my metabolism can handle them. Notice on my plate there was no stuffing or mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving. I wanted them. But, I made a choice. Which would I rather have: 1/2 piece of pie or stuffing or mashed potatoes?
I can always have mashed potatoes. I’m not too crazy over bread stuffing. But, pumpkin pie is kind of the spirit of the season. I did not say to myself, like many of clients choose: “I’m going to be bad today, so, I’m just going to stop thinking about my weight for one day and eat anything I want!”

This kind of thought is just simply a bad choice. You don’t cross the street one day and decide that you are not going to think today, because you’re tired! No, you protect your body from harm. You look both ways and make the safest choice.

It is not as if diabetes, heart conditions, morbid obesity, and blood pressure is not a result of overeating. These medical conditions, especially in the United States are very much a result of many people, during the holidays, simply releasing all of their inhibitions and desires to be healthy—for what—a belly ache?

I know this is what happens to me. Overeating is like having a bad hangover. My blood sugar skyrockets. Then it bottoms out, making me even hungrier for the next meal or a snack, later. It’s a never-ending cycle of bad behavior.

Make a choice this holiday to simply whittle away at the carbs during dinner, so that you can have that 1/2 a piece of dessert. I guarantee, if you keep up your exercise regimen, you’ll do way better than everyone else around you with weight loss. You may stay at the same weight or gain one or two pounds. But, in January when most people are trying to lose 15-20 pounds of unwanted weight, you will have your two pounds off in a week.

Happy eating!

IS WEIGHTLOSS A JOKE? #weightloss #diet #spiritualadvice #DivineMind #ScienceofMind #SpiritualLiving

Yesterday, I posted a cartoon of Michelangelo’s famous statue of David, supposedly overweight after staying three years in the U.S. Most people laughed and commented accordingly. But one person added some interesting facts to the post. He said that the U.S. was not the only country that had a weight problem. In fact, countries like Russia and China were also experiencing obesity problems, probably because of the emergence of American food into the country infrastructure.

The truth: Obesity is no joke! We laughed at the cartoon, because most of us have had so much trouble losing just a few pounds. In my work, I have helped people lose 100 pounds or more, which usually takes a year or more of steady, steady work.

Some of my clients also had had bariatric surgery or a lap band around the stomach to prevent overeating. But, the stories, even after the surgery, are scary. Most people who have had the surgery, do great at the beginning, but gain most of the weight back after a year.
Personally, I live in a situation where I don’t buy all of the food that comes into my house. Therefore, I am subject to the likes and dislikes of those members of my family who want to by junky food, food with no nutrition and laced with senseless calories. (This is even though, both of them are diabetic.)

If you have been following my blog, about six months ago, I lost 20 pounds and got my body back to a great weight. The weight loss was a struggle with all the junk around me, but I didn’t acquiesce to the junk for about two months, while I steadily and methodically did 45 minutes of cardio each day, swam at least 10 laps, and did 30 minutes of yoga and abdominal work. To this, I added a very intense gluten-free diet, and only ate protein and fresh vegetables or fruit. Almost immediately, my weight surged downward. In two months, the weight was gone, as was my stomach.

Now, going forward, if I continue to eat great meals, rich in vitamins and no potatoes and pasta (or very small portions of these foods), I can now add a bit of the fun food that would have caused a severe weight gain in the past. You see, I think that we all feel that we are being robbed of the “goodies” when we can’t have an occasional ice cream cone or cookie. Lose the weight first! Stick to your diet during meals. Continue to do the exercise. And, you WILL be able to have a treat now and again. I do! And I’m happy to say that I haven’t gained the weight back.

But, I am diligent in the fact that I have kept my cardiovascular workouts steady and most of my meals are completely healthy. Now that the weight is lost, I do order a burger once in a while. But I eat it with a “5-6” fries and no bun. I feel just as happy that way, because my stomach has shrunk, and I simply don’t feel good after eating a lot of carbs.

My stomach gets bloated and I feel sick to my stomach. These feelings of discomfort are my body showing me that I should not have eaten so much. If your body is not responding in such a way to eating junk, then you need to do a purge for a couple of months to get your body speaking to you again.

Obesity kills many every year. I have helped 1000s of people lose weight. If you need encouragement and want a coach that uses fact, life coaching, spiritual mind treatment, and hypnosis, then give me a call. (954-253-6493)

I am still coaching via Skype and Facetime at your convenience. My current clients have found that this new approach over the Internet has worked well for all of us. 5 Steps to Losing Weight Over 50 #weightloss #weightgain #whatstrending #dieting

We all know that doing anything physical is more difficult as you age, but I hadn’t realized, until last year, that losing weight was, also, more difficult. I have been wrestling with the same 10 pounds for over two years. However, in the past two weeks I have lost NINE pounds of the ten. Yes, and it was easy, actually. Here are the steps I took. The final steps are the interesting ones that older people don’t think about, but they are so true to form.
  1. Limit meals to 500-600 calories each. Yes, this means eating lots of vegetables, little to no carbs, and some protein. Where I made the big mistake in eating for two years was in this category. For my age group you can’t eat AS MUCH as you want of vegetables and protein. Calorically and metabolically, you still gain weight. You have to limit your caloric intake. You may also eat five smaller meals each day. I have only been eating 3 while I’m trying to lose. I’ll increase the meals and calories when I get to my desired weight.
  2. Of course, when you put fuel into the gas tank, you must use it. Experts say the first step about calories, however, is the most important at our age. But, exercise is paramount to losing weight, especially aerobic exercise. Personally, I have been doing extra to get it off quickly: 45 minutes of cycling, 10 laps in the swimming pool, 30 minutes of yoga, and 10 minutes of abs. (I know that sounds daunting, but I study while I’m on the bike, love swimming and yoga, and the only torture is the abs part.) Of course, you can do less, but the result will mean losing weight slowly, which also good.
  3. These final three steps I found in Huffington Post: People who are over 50 tend to not sleep as well as younger people. When you toss and turn, this leaves you feeling like you need energy the next day. When that happens, you overeat. Actually, sleeping well is the easiest way to lose weight. So, focus in on finding better sleep habits and you’ll lose weight every night. Seven good hours of sleep burns 100 calories
  4. Wash the pesticides off of your food and don’t store your food in plastic. The chemicals that are in pesticides and the chemicals that seep off of the plastic in your bottled water are both deterrents to losing weight! Yikes!
  5. Finally, and this theory is still not completely tested, but it makes sense: According to AARP, "Lowering your thermostat from 75 to 68 degrees stimulates brown fat and increases calorie burn by 100 calories a day."
I hope these steps help you as much as they aided me in losing these nine pounds. I haven’t seen this number on the scale for over two years.

Weight Loss on the Holiday: Digging Myself Out of the Just One More ??? Hole!

When I got to Florida, I was so proud of myself, because I had gotten down to a weight that I had not seen for ten years. Slowly, but surely, the weight began to return with a vengeance. However, I had a swimming pool that I used to do laps and then a yoga practice to stretch everyday while it was warm enough. Now, I’m doing no aerobics and eating the entire holiday table. Honestly, I feel as if I have done better than everyone else around me, taking smaller helpings and eating one instead of ten desserts, but I still have gained ten pounds in four months. What to do?

Well, we all know that New Years is right around the bend. Most of us are secretly whispering to ourselves: “I have just one more week to cheat, then I will get back to my regular diet and to exercising this extra weight off.”

The problem with this theory is that you will need approximately three months to get ten pounds off, especially if this is JUST holiday weight. I guarantee you that you will have the impetus to last a month doing all the right things—eating the correct food, exercising daily for an hour. But most people poop out after that. Suddenly, a new holiday appears where chocolate is the presiding gift. And the same dialogue goes through our minds: “Just a couple of days for Valentine’s day to over do it.” Then, a spring vacation comes. Then two birthdays in a row with cake and more cake.

I really felt as if I had a handle on this problem after all of my trials the last two years in gaining and losing weight. But, apparently, I’m just as human as everyone around me. If my dog smells steak after eating his entire bowl of food, he’s going to eat it no matter how hungry he is. I believe we all have that innate desire.

Too late in the process, I decided that I can say to myself: “Hey, Bo, those desserts will be there tomorrow if you want another one. I know that first one tasted so good. But waiting until tomorrow can be a great way to show yourself that you have control!” I, also, really should have made it to the gym more during the holiday, especially since waiting in traffic and on long lines did anything but give me exercise. Exhaustion, yes, but not exercise.
So, I’m headed to the gym today to do my hour of aerobics and begin a new regimen of eating anything but leftover holiday junk.

Then, my mother yells, “Dinner,” at 10 p.m. She served my favorite, PASTA!

After Three Months of Gluten Free #diet #health #weightloss #weightgain

After Three Months of Gluten Free
#diet #health #weightloss #weightgain

I got on the scale 3 days ago and, alas, I hit my 20 lb. loss mark! I was so excited, I overate for three days and gained 3 pounds back. But, I didn’t just eat the way I had been eating the prior three months, I ate some pasta and bread—gluten! I feel awful. Not just psychologically, because I have back-peddled, but my stomach aches, my belly is bloated, and I can’t think straight. All of my symptoms have been chemically and physiologically related to eating wheat. If you haven’t tried going gluten free, you may want to try the diet after reading this blog.

For ten years I had been experiencing IBS symptoms, migraines, and developed a bad arthritic condition, specific to my right hip flexors. After eating, I always felt sick to my stomach, acidy, which would lead me to eating more carbohydrates to settle the discomfort. After entering my forties, I wasn’t able to slough off the extra pounds so easily. And, unfortunately, the weight collected around my belly, no matter how many abdominal exercises I did. Also, the aches continued to worsen, even though I did yoga 3-5 times a week.

Here is the scientific low down on gluten:

1.) All of today’s wheat has been genetically modified (MGO), which causes a chemical similar to an opiate to react with your brain. Scientists from the wheat industry modified many years ago wheat to keep us eating those bad carbohydrates.

2.) A syndrome called “wheat belly” is common in people who eat or drink too many wheat products. Basically, this is a potbelly (from beer, vodka, and too many carbohydrates). Sorry, friends, most vodka and beer are made from wheat. However, the good news is that there are some beer and vodka that is gluten free now
.
3.) Systemically, wheat belly causes an acid base, first, in the stomach, then in the entire body. An acidic body causes pains, aches, and an inability to heal efficiently.

4.) Your brain is also effected by this GMO wheat. When you eat wheat, free radicals flow to the brain, linked to many brain diseases: dementia, migraines, Alzheimer's, and depression, to name a few.

I, personally, found that after being gluten free for just two weeks, almost all of my stomach symptoms went away. I began to feel that my mind was clearer and my migraines—which were happening 2-3 times a week—have gone completely. I, also, began to see a major difference in the arthritic condition in my body. After 3 months, I can do poses in yoga I haven’t been able to do for ten years.

So, why would I “choose” to eat wheat after 3 months, losing 20 pounds, and feeling so much better? The syndrome is called “a habit.” Habits are not just connected to your deductive brain, they are a neurological problem, as well; especially when chemical dependency is your problem. If you think you can WILL yourself to quit smoking, stop using drugs, or lose weight, you are probably wrong. I have been a hypnotherapist for over 20 years, helping people make effective change. The constant in this process is the inability to keep your habit changed for 2-3 years. Scientists have recently proven that specific to weight loss, the body and brain continue to want to return to homeostasis, which means it resists change for up to 3 years. So, your diligence to keep the change happening (diets, alcohol or drug free, smoke free) for that long is imperative to making lasting change, especially with diet.

So, will I go back to being completely gluten free today? You bet my ass I will!

I Need Some Mojo #weightloss #weightgain #magic #goodluck

I Need Some Mojo
#weightloss #weightgain #magic #goodluck

I have used the word mojo before, but I didn’t really know what it meant until this morning. The urban dictionary says that it’s a spell or a magic charm. So, when someone says, “Girl, you got some mojo going on?” That means, actually, that you have cast a magic spell over him or her. Or if you want to get your mojo working, then you have something special you may do to cast a sense of good luck or overwhelming “rightness” around your life.

I certainly could use some good mojo, right now, concerning the selling of my house. In fact, I’m sitting here writhing in pain, because I hurt my lower back and hip joint a couple days ago probably picking up a toothpick or something silly like that. I have no idea what I did to cause such excruciating pain. I simply know that sitting at this computer and typing is taking every bit of energy I have to not scream out in pain. Fortunately, for me, this has happened before and a very nice doctor prescribed a muscle relaxer. So, the last couple days I have been carefully taking medication as I move through my busy days, only using the meds when I absolutely need them and when I have no clients. We wouldn’t want Bo flying high as a kite and working at the same time. That wouldn’t be a good combination. However, having the help of a medication to ease severe pain can also be a real blessing, especially during a time of waiting.

In my case, before my back issues began, I have been using my extra time at the computer, mostly, writing and corresponding with many friends about my move. The unfortunate problem with a back spasm, at this moment in my life is that I can barely sit, let alone concentrate, while at the computer.
Yesterday, I had an editing client for three hours and wanted to crawl right out of my skin after about two hours of sitting in a chair. We ended up taking a fortunate lunch break, right about then; otherwise, I don’t believe I would have been able to finish the project. Again, thank God, for muscle relaxers. This pain also does seem to diminish as I walk around, but unfortunately, rain has followed me through the last 3 days. Last evening, I even went to the gym and walked gently on the treadmill for 45 minutes, since that seems to be the only kind of exercise I can do. I’m trying to NOT gain any more weight from being sedentary. Yes, I’ve already put on almost 3 pounds because I haven’t been exercising, which is terribly disheartening, since I have worked so hard to keep this 19 pounds off. I can actually watch my belly grow, which also isn’t so pretty.

The interesting thing about the human process of making change, such at weight loss, is that almost everyone who tries to lose weight, eventually comes to a place where he or she gets hurt and can’t exercise for a period of time. I have seen it hundreds of times in the past few years with coaching clients.

I helped one woman lose 80 pounds, only for her to get lymphedema in one leg and not be able to exercise for a month while she coaxed her body back to health completely sedentary. Was this some kind of ploy from her brain and body that wanted her to gain back the weight because it felt as if she was moving out of homeostasis and into effective change? Perhaps!

For me, since I can’t do much but lay around the house as I alternate ice and heat packs, I have been meditating a lot. I feel that Spirit is calling me to a silent place, instead of worrying about the sale of my house. For this, I’m thankful for the pain. You see, we can’t make haste about healing, nor can we argue with our present aches and pains. Sometimes action isn’t the answer. Most times, sitting quietly and waiting for answer and healing is the best medicine. We simply have to look at what is and make the best of it.

For instance, this morning, I have to teach yoga. You’re thinking, yeah right! Exactly, my point. I’m going to go to class with my street clothes on and monitor it, while I let the woman who is going to take over my class teach. She needs to learn, and I need to let her learn. It may be the perfect opportunity for her to make some mistakes that I can help her through. When I get home, I might just lie down and spend the rest of the day meditating on selling my home and dream of my awesome future. I can do that now, without feeling as if I should be doing something productive, instead. I have no excuses to not know the truth about spirit: “be still and know that I am God.”

I absolutely am knowing for you and me, today, that the perfect will of God is transforming your life and mine, as we wait in the peace of God for the right and perfect decisions to transpire. If you need a little mojo, meditation is the perfect place to begin to envision your bountiful blessings. When the seed is planted in your mind and has had the time to gestate, your dream will grow, just as lovely as a beautiful flower blooming in the spring.

Let’s Talk Bluntly About Fat #weightloss #loseweight#weightgain #glutenfree

Let’s Talk Bluntly About Fat #weightloss #loseweight#weightgain #glutenfree

I have no bones about saying the word fat. In fact, admitting that you are overweight or fat is exactly what you have to do to make any kind of change in your behavior patterns. Now is the time to turn your body back to the healthy vessel it should be.

A staggering 68.5% of Americans are overweight and 38% are obese. The difference between overweight and obese is ratio of weight to height. Also, morbid obesity is a disease that is caused from having too much weight on your body, which manifests kidney, heart, liver, and muscular disease, not to mention the worse case of depression one can get. And don’t get me started about childhood obesity—also a staggering 38%, which is usually caused by parents who are obese. Can you imagine feeding your children the wrong food and causing them diabetes at a young age? This happens all the time, not because parents are generally careless, but because we are not educated about how and what to eat and what a child should to remain at a healthy weight. Eating and the computer age for children, with sedentary built into the equation, makes getting children to exercise also more difficult. Simply limit computer time to two hours a day. Your children will find something else more active to do.

In my estimation, after wrestling with some extra fat around my midsection for about five years, the problem was wheat gluten. You may think you want to stop here, but hear me out. You don’t have to give up bread or pasta to be gluten free. In fact, some of the gluten-free products are even better than the wheat products. Yes, you will have to give up beer and your beer gut, and, also, the only kind of vodka you can drink is a corn-based vodka called Titos, but you will find substitutes. I’m sure someone is already working on a great tasting beer for the near future that is gluten free.

I can honestly and say—forthright—that giving up gluten was easy. In fact, I barely even crave bread or sugary cakes or cookies anymore. If I have a sweet craving, I simply eat a gluten-free dessert. I’m not promoting sugar. I’m simply saying that giving up wheat isn’t the same as giving up dessert. This gluten-free business was a 5 billion dollar business last year, including cookies and cakes.

Businessmen expect the gluten-free business to double and triple in the coming years. Why? Because it works! Everyone I know who is successful at losing weight and keeping it off is on a gluten-free diet. And the benefits far outnumber the issue of spending a little extra money on the products.
As someone who is staying away from gluten, I feel my brain is functioning better, as there are fewer free radicals floating around up there in my noggin. My muscular problems, including arthritis, are so much better that I have been in 10 years. I have been able to do comfortably do yoga 6 days out of seven every week, included some more strenuous exercises, which wasn’t the case before I started.

Best news of all, in three months, starting out at 176 pounds, I am down to 156, and it happened without much effort at all. I am fitting into my slender clothes now and feel amazing about it, especially as I prepare to move, where shirtless is a mainstay.

I am moving to Southern Florida to begin a new small imprint publishing company called: Finding Authentic You Publishing: findingauthenticyou-publishing.com. I am accepting submissions now for my January 2015 bookshelf. If you or any friends are interested, please go to the website and read the submission guidelines. Thanks.

3 Ways that Guilt Can Weigh You Down

3 Ways that Guilt Can Weigh You Down

I read an article in Huffington Post written by Carolyn Gregoire that suggests the emotion of guilt can actually make you gain weight! She goes even further to state that two other ways guilt can block the good in your life is that it contributes to depression and makes you procrastinate more.

I’ve never been one to act on guilt, generally. But after I read the article, I thought about the times in my life that I have, and how it contributed to depression and negative thoughts. I don’t believe, for me, gaining weight was a factor.

Family is probably the prime contributor to guilt, especially mothers. I know too many matriarchal queens who wield the power of guilt on their very prone children. My mom sulks when she doesn’t get her way. In times of old, I would simply think: well, it would take less energy to do what she asks, then actually confront her and bitch about it.

But now when she sulks, I simply say, “Are you enjoying that sad feeling? It’s causing you stress, but it’s not changing a thing for me. If you want or need something from me, all you have to do is ask! If I can do whatever you’re asking, I will. If I can’t, I’ll simply tell you, and you’ll have to deal with it!”

This way of dealing with guilt has changed my life, I actually take my own advice. Sometimes, still, I resist the urge to do what’s right and acquiesce to her old ways.

I have another family member who loves using guilt to get her way. For as long as I can remember, this is has been her prime force of power. She uses it with her children, her siblings and her parents. Of course, I feel virtually void of her guilt, because I have parameters and boundaries that supersede this kind of control. You need this kind of power, too, if you want to exist in this world without undo guilt causing you to carry extra weight, depression, and procrastination.

Women are primary candidates for carrying guilt. A recent Spanish study in 2010 shows that women acquiesce to guilt more than men. Read the article: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/01/100125123305.htm. Why is this so?

I have many women clients who have been trapped by demanding mothers and parents who keep them practically jailed in their own homes because of shame and guilt. It takes a lifetime of manipulation to be able to engage a fully-grown adult into the kind of shame that would put a life on hold to take care of a parent and give up a job and/or relationship. Trust me, it happens frequently, though.

In these cases, most of the time, the woman has her own set of issues that help debilitate her, as well, needing to rest on her parent’s laurels for help and security. This symbiotic mess causes a reduction of the protective boundaries in my clients and a maze of codependent and co-narcissistic behavior.

If you feel you need help with this kind of issue, take it to a professional. Regaining power and the resources to overcome dependency and narcissism take time and a complete renovation on the neural impulses that cause this detrimental behavior.

Look for MY LATEST BOOK:  “Finding Authentic You, 7 Steps to Effective Change” with a Year to CLEAR (C-larity, L-ove, E-nthusiasm A-nd R-elationship-Ready) on my Website in the Webstore. Thanks!

Below is information that I will be sharing for about a month, as not every person on my list reads the blog every day. If you have already read it, just skip over it. Thanks for understanding.

A Year to CLEAR Challenge:
(Please Know: You Can Join Us At Any Point in the Year Challenge.)

The masses search outward for things that qualify them as a person, but I always go inward for that which quantifies me for greatness. At twenty-five I preached on street corners in NYC as an in-the-closet Pentecostal minister. One day I heard a still small voice say, ‘God cannot be contained in a book or a law or even in a religion. Dig deeper, reach further to find me, and you will find your authentic Self.’”

A Year to CLEAR Challenge!

The acronym CLEAR stands for (Compassionate, Loving, Enthusiastic, And Relationship-Ready). The goal of this project is to engulf readers in a weekly study that will transform them by removing blocks, promote self-growth, and give them wings to fly freely into daily life. Each week, by going to BoSebastian.com and choosing the Year to CLEAR Challenge tab, a new challenge or thought to provoke conversation, growth, and group functionality.

My vision is to make Finding Authentic You the book to have in your Kindle or on your computer. The book is a comprehensive look at growth—spiritually, mentally, and physically.

As a yoga teacher and student of the Ayurvedic tradition, I bring to the table understanding of physical challenges, the ability to overcome mental problems with Life & Health Coaching, as well as hypnotherapy, and expertise in meditation and spirituality as a minister.

The combination of all three in one book with an interactive connection to like-minded readers, for one year, is what makes this Year to CLEAR Challenge a must-do for every spiritual seeker.

The One-Year Approach to Change

No one believes he or she can change overnight. But success in change comes from the metaphors of nature. Seasonally, life changes all around us in nature. Finding Authentic You offers a gradual change perspective, looking at the triune aspects of change as in yoga: Body, Mind and Spirit.

Accessing the ability to change and finding yourself actually pursuing change must be a daily search, which I call getting to the “observer mind.”

In this frontal cortex of the brain we find the anatomy of change and the power to counter every negative trigger of the human process. The workings of Hypnosis, NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) are all positive actions to help the mind and body flow to a positive space for change.

Every aspect of FINDING AUTHENTIC YOU fulfills this constant need for diffusing the negative past and dreaming of a fulfilling future.

Step 1: Recognize That Change is Inevitable
Step 2: Release from Resistance to Change
Step 3: Understanding Change and Allow Spirit to Define It
Step 4: A History Lesson—About You
Step 5: Look at Your Past with Compassion
Step 6: Making a Strong Commitment to Change
Step 7: Dream Your Fabulous Future
