Mysticism and Miracles
Many people believe in miracles but tend to deny the idea of
mysticism. There actually two definitions of mysticism. The first is: the
belief that union with a Deity or the absolute, or the spiritual apprehension
of knowledge inaccessible to the intellect, may be attained through
contemplation and self-surrender.
The second definition for mysticism is a completely
different take, defining mysticism as “belief characterized by self-delusion or
dreamy confusion when based on the assumption of occult qualities.”
The mystics of old thought they were in a rare and exotic
group to have the magnitude of spiritual understanding enough to produce a
change in critical mass and intrinsic human beliefs. Just to discuss
spirituality was a rare behavior before the early nineteen hundreds, expect to
say, perhaps that you do believe and agree with what has been taught by someone
scholarly or ordained.
Thank heavens for people like Ernest Holmes and Charles and
Myrtle Filmore fwho forged a way to new thought about mysticism and
understanding spiritual law. Myrtle Filmore believed in miracles enough to
change a fatal diagnosis to a complete healing. She believed that miracles actually
existed? How powerful would a mind need to be to change water into wine?
The truth is in words of Jesus, actually. Unless you become
like a child, you will not understand or know the kingdom of God (paraphrased).
Only a child will open his heart or mind to a parent in a yielding way to be
changed, altered, influenced, and taken care of. Jesus tells us in His words
that we must become like those small child to receive from the heavens that
which is rightfully ours.
Have you ever noticed a child of affluence? These children
grow to understand that they have the world in their tiny hands before they
ever get the chance to experience life. It is a learned behavior as a result of
having influence and money, generally. We must begin to see ourselves as
affluent in the laws of spirit. I see myself as a child of Unlimited Good and
Wisdom. Can you? I want to live in a world where we are not looking for
miracles, but trying to find where there isn’t one!
