For many years I have likened deductive reasoning to the part of the brain that produces mathematics. Take an absolute and true observation and apply it to a thought. By default you receive a truthful resolve.

I had likened the inductive mind with the dream state, because it starts with theory and tries to prove theory from logical inference. Most science rejects the theories based on inductive thinking because of this rather backward process.

In spirituality, and especially when we are trying to meditate, I have always said that we must move away from deductive thought and move toward inductive thought to get out of the process of the brain that keeps us reasoning.

In other words, to fall asleep, you must be dreaming instead of using the part of the brain that formulates things: like grocery lists, thinking about what happened to you that day and trying to decided what to do about it, going over ideas in your mind, etc. These things use the process in the brain that will always keep you awake.

However, when you disengage from logic output and focus in on the part of the brain that creates, it is easy to induce sleep. Sleep and dream are almost a simultaneous action when it comes to the science of sleep. If you can imagine, usually you will have no problem falling asleep.

Whereas, people who have trouble imagining anything in their minds, have a harder time falling asleep. Why is this so? These latter types of people use the part of their brain that recapitulates what has already happened and goes over it and over it in their minds, creating a sort of looping effect. As long as you use this reasoning part of your mind, you can’t really sleep.

My use of the word Inductive for the dreaming part of the mind is probably a misnomer. It seemed reasonable to me that the inductive would be the opposite of the deductive. But, as I study more about the two states of mind, I realize that I have been operating on supposition. So, I have used the polarities of thinking in helping people fall asleep or get into a meditative state.

We know that for certain the deductive mind uses profound truth to reason. The part of the mind that “reasons” is the part of the mind that will keep you awake. Whereas, the part of the mind that imagines is the part of the mind that will help you sleep. There! Instead of using the terms inductive and deductive reasoning to help you understand how to meditate, I’ll begin to use the words REASONING and IMAGINING. This will give us a much clearer idea of when we are causing a consistent looping of thoughts that keeps us awake. Or, when we use the imagination to create in our minds, which induces a meditative or dream state.

If you have been confused by my use of the deductive and inductive reasoning, I apologize. From this day forward, it’s only REASONING V. IMAGINING for me!

When we speak of the Soul, we should consider that the Soul is Divine Matter from which all things are created. In yesterday’s discovery, I said that the Soul was much like the soil, always ready to grow any seed we plant, without fail.

The soul, also, can be likened to the ether, which in Physics is defined as: a very rarefied and highly elastic substance, believed to permeate all space, including the very small spaces between the particles of matter, and to be the medium whose vibrations constituted light and other electromagnetic radiation.

Sir Oliver Joseph Lodge, a British physicist, who identified electromagnetic radiation, independent of Hertz in the late 1800’s, says this: no two physical particles really touch each other, no two electrons. They are all divided from each other by a space, which is relative to the space between the planetary bodies, never once touching each other throughout their existence.

Lodge’s studies brought about a theory that helped today’s spiritual movers and shakers understand how Divine Mind acts upon the ether to create substance. I’m sure the world would love to see profound, scientific proof that all spiritual theories work. But, in reality, the closest any scientist or theorist can come to proving anything is to simply discover expressions of universal law and watch them work. No scientist in history claims—after discovering something—that he or she MADE or CREATED that discovery. No, the scientist simply found what had already existed in the ether.

I postulate that the closest we can come to Divine Mind is when we are in a state of meditation. Meditation releases our human minds from our corporal being and suspends us in a state of Divine Mind, where we experience Subjective Space, Soul, Ether, and all Laws that existed from the beginning of time.

So, when we spend time in meditation, we sit in the presence of this Ether where all ideas, creativity, and laws rest in cohesion with Divine Mind. If we hope to discover anything, it would come from this space, where all Laws and ideas are already present. The quiet mind is the productive mind, the receiver of all theories known and unknown.

Since metaphysicians also believe that the soul has the power to create, acting on the word or desire of Divine Mind, then we must believe that the Ether has power and that it is not just a blank canvas waiting to be painted. The Laws of the universe are not only present in the Ether, but the Ether itself is also powerful enough to create from the word of God. From the darkness or space or ether, all things were created!

So, how does this knowledge help you, today, create in our personal microcosm of life? If you are like me, you are in search of truth. I not only want to find truth, but also express it, test it, and watch it work, much like a theorist or scientist. I want to watch what I believe work in my life to create abundance, peace, and truth. I want to, then, use these same laws to help the world (the macrocosm) to become more peaceful, loving, and abundant.

To do this, we must take our theories of the Law of Mind and use them daily to create in our lives what we desire and know to be true. We practice these theories to prove them to ourselves, and then, to the world.

If we don’t, we might as well be an Isaac Newton who never shared his discoveries of gravity and light. What use would his personal discoveries be, if not for the Whole! We must be like Spiritual Scientists, always discovering the Law. Then, we must share what we learn with the world, to create a better, more cohesive world to live.

When we speak of the Soul, we must always consider that the Soul is Divine Matter from which all things are created. It is much like the soil. The soil does not have choice, nor does the Soul. When you plant a sunflower, the soil gives you a sunflower. Were the soil to have a choice whether to reject your desire to plant a sunflower, then the world would be full of chaos. For this Divine Reason, the soul holds the subjective of the Mind, just like the soil is subjective to our choice of what to plant.

Does this make the soil any less powerful? Does this make the Soul any less a part of God? Absolutely not. The Soul is God in the sense that it is the matter from which the Mind God creates.

What human on earth could create a plant or animal? All the intelligence on earth can’t produce something from nothing. Yet, soul has the power to take an idea from Divine Mind and turn it into substance. Even though it is subjective, it is, nonetheless, the power of God.

To understand the power of the soul is to be seated at the right hand of all the Masters of the World, who understood how to create substance by using the power of Divine Mind in this subjective field of Possibility—Soul.

As you step into your own power as a small creator in this world, understanding the use of Divine Mind and directing it to the subjective field of possibility, it is as if Daddy has given you His credit card, saying: “Look, Son or Daughter, now you don’t have to ask me to get what you need. You, too, have the power to create on a smaller scale, in your own individualized world!”

When you begin to grasp this great gift from God, you will have nothing but completely thankfulness for this gift. My eyes look toward the beauty of the sky and perfect plants and animals and think, Wow, what created ALL OF THIS exists in me on some small level! What an amazing feat it would be to actually understand this and use it to benefit the world and help my own life manifest in peaceful, loving, and prosperous ways!

Some people, especially those who create rules and laws in religion would love for you to NOT know your individual power in this world. They live in a world of you OR me. Instead, truly spiritual people live in a world of you AND ME.

I know that if you are reading this Discovery, today, the time has come for you to understand that you were made in the image of God; therefore, you are a small god, albeit, a creator, holding the same powers as the one who created the Universe.

Because this is true, you now have the opportunity to experiment with this power in your own individualized world. You are meant to learn to walk, as it were, in Spirit, using the powers of the Laws set before you by God, not by religion or man.

Don’t you think it’s time for you to be an adult in Spirit? If you do, then begin to understand the power of the subjective soul and the pure possibility of a life, using the Divine Mind to create in this amazing world.

Ernest Holmes uses this interesting word to describe the relationship between soul and spirit. He writes: “Spirit and Soul intersphere each other and both have omnipresence. The Spirit of the Universe permeates the Soul of the Universe, forever impregnating it with ideas.”

When I read this, I stopped in my tracks and retraced the words, defining them again, and looked for a deeper meaning. For a person who loves to study, this is a great thing. I love a challenge and especially enjoy the AHA moment, when I unravel the conundrum of words to find Spiritual Truth.

In geometry a polyhedron is a solid, 3-dimensional, flat-faced, straight-edged form with sharp corners or vertexes. The intersphere are the circles within each flat-faced surface, which touch any given edge at exactly one point, and one point only.

This many-faceted universe of ours with all its finite dimensions have circles in each facet that connect everyone and everything in the universe by, at least, one point. Circles commonly represent unity, wholeness, and infinity. So, within the tangible universe, lies an intangible substance interconnecting all things. That one common element, of course, would be the One Mind of God, which we all share.

As exacting and mathematical as this sounds, Holmes goes on to say in Chapter Three, page 89, of The Science of Mind that “we need not look at God as this impersonal Law of Science, because within each of our souls lies a seed of need to see God as something personal and loving.”

He postulates that, because most of us have the need for a personal God, that a personal God must exist. He says that personality cannot emerge from just a scientific or a mathematical principle. Therefore, if humans emerged with a personality, God or Source must, inherently, contain personality.

Spiritual Evolution should make the Infinite not more distant, but more intimate!

We have a very exacting Law that created All. But, undergirding this Intricate Law of Mind, we have a personality. To this personality, let’s ascribe the word LOVE in BOLD LETTERS. Love lies beneath all and began all.

So, no matter how interested you become in the Science of Spirituality and creating with the Law of Mind, you must never forget that you are born with personality, needing love to complete you.

As we grow in Spirit, we should become stronger, more prosperous in every way. But most importantly, we must become more loving and compassionate. If this transformation doesn’t undergird your studies, what you build in Spirit will eventually collapse.

Everything in this universe needs to have a foundation in love to exist in perpetuity.
