For years I rested on my laurels, thinking that when I needed prayer that I could simply go to a minister or a prayer practitioner to help me manifest something in my life. For a long time I ignored the truth and principles that I needed to learn to help my spiritual walk manifest with strength and power.
Today is the day that you might consider this possibility: What if someone is not available at the time of your prayer? Even worse, what if you choose the wrong person to help you manifests your life’s goals? Instead of using principle, this minister sets in motion a prayer of poverty. Then, to make matters worse, you say, “Amen,” with trust, and double the prayer action.
So, in other words, when you place someone else in control of your divine destiny, many things can go wrong. We wonder why we have been in New Thought for so long and the much-needed change we pray for is still not manifesting. Many of you are still going to traditional churches, afraid to leave your old friends and families, and pray prayers over and over again with ministers who know nothing about what you have been avidly practicing in your personal time with books by Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, Eckhart Tolle, Louise Hay, and the like.
When you go out on the Interstate to drive and do not remember the basic rules of driving, whose fault is it when you get pulled over by a policeman? When you try to make toast with a broken toaster or in a kitchen where the electricity is turned off, whose fault is it when your toast does not brown? In other words, the Laws and Principles of Spirituality are all around you, have been taught to you week after week, and still you do not take the responsibility of learning the way to pray effectively in your life.
Also, what I hear more than anything is: “I cannot meditate! I will not meditate. I just do not have the time. I cannot sit still long enough. I cannot get my mind to shut off!” Well, now would be the time to ask for instruction, not prayer. Or read a book about it and learn how to meditate. I promise you, no real spiritual change will occur in your life until you can separate your spiritual self from your human self. This happens in the observer mind as you meditate. So, if you are not meditating and, at least, trying to discover this reality, you are not walking toward your highest spiritual self.
I am writing to encourage you to take responsibility of your own walk. You are probably the kind of person that controls everything in your life, BUT your spiritual walk. Will you ask yourself why? Do you think you are not powerful enough, good enough, or moral enough to make your prayers become effective?
Let me leave you with this one thought. There are many, many people who have no morality at all, who understand the Laws and Principles of receiving from the universe. These people are using their good for terrorism and building castles for themselves to the sky. If you were to be able to manifest in the same way as these men and women, where would you put your wealth and prosperity?
The world needs you to grow up spiritually, so that you can counteract the negativity in the world!

You must change your Old Story, to make a consistent and long lasting change in Your Life.
