CALLING ALL CARS! Ubering at Your Own Risk #Uber #Holidaypartydriving

If you’re planning on taking an Uber or using a car service during the holiday party time, you’ve got to read this story. Last year, this happened to me.

A friend and I were planning on going from Pembroke Pines to Miami Beach on New Years Eve for a party at a swanky, beachside home. On a normal day the drive would be 40 minutes.

Because of traffic and our intention to have a few drinks our inclination was to “Uber it” for the evening. I initiated the Uber driver from my home in Pembroke, and then picked about 15 minutes towards Miami Beach, then to our destiny. The trek began at 7 p.m.

There were some minor delays along the way. Traffic was heavy, even that early. My friend wasn’t ready when we arrived, so I waited with the patient Uber driver, who smiled congenially the entire time. Little did I know that as we continued on our journey, the Uber rates were fluctuating up and down from 3x the normal cost all the way to 15x the normal cost.

As we were trying to circumvent traffic, each of us had suggestions to avoid the long delays on I95, because it was literally stopped cold. We took the Express lane, alternate routes, and finally ended up in Miami Beach about 2 1/2 hours later.

Even though you don’t have to tip, I gave the driver $30 for his trouble. Still, he smiled and said, have a good evening. When I looked at my phone, after Uber drove away, the cost of the ride had accumulated to $348.00 after the varying costs were calculated. I thought, surely, this can’t be correct.

I sent in an inquiry to Uber. But there was no getting out of paying for the service.

My advice to you is to take a car service that will give you a quote before you ever get in the car for the entire ride when it comes to a big holiday. Uber may be the preferred service on normal driving days. But on holidays, think again!

Attaining Prosperity in the New Year #Uber #prosperity #SpiritualPrinciple #SOM #spirituality

When you grow up poor and always wondering if you will be eating “hot rock soup” for dinner, you tend to have a lingering feeling of loss, even if you have become a successful adult. I know this feeling well. I see it in every member of my family, and each of them has a different level of prosperity.

I specifically see this evident in my mother’s attitude toward life. She has a tendency to insist that she attains two or three of everything in the pantry, to make sure that she will never run out of anything she needs. This feeling of lack, she has passed on to each of her children, without even knowing it.

The good news is that with the knowledge of “observing” your human actions and feelings, you can change them at any time. If you have been reading my blog, you have a basic understanding of how to change a negative thought to a positive one. In so doing, you will change your external world, simply by remodeling your thought about it. What you believe will become the story of your life.

I noticed, recently, that no matter how much I had in the bank, I always seemed to feel a sense of lack. Also, even when I was resting, I simply felt as if I wasn’t doing enough to attain all that I need or live in the lifestyle that I’m accustomed.

So, I decided to do something about this feeling. Instead of living with negativity and a poverty feeling (which does not serve anyone) and having to negate the feeling that came up every time I thought about my bank account, I asked Spirit to help me work on this problem.

My answer was very simple. Find something to do, part-time that helps me feel as if I have enough. I already know that enough exists in the world and that I’m made of the very matter that created the world. So, stepping one footstep farther and allowing my mind to manifest more prosperity took one action—OPENING MY MIND AND HEART TO MORE.

Spirit’s guidance was simple: Find something you can do that will provide a little more (if that’s what you think you need), and the feeling of “need” will go away. I prayed for guidance as to WHAT this part-time job would look like. I had no idea that the answer would come from an innocuous, paper business card someone had handed me at a commercial shoot I did over a year ago. It was a card to become an UBER driver.

The guy who handed me the card had just driven over the holidays and made about $500 in one evening. I was impressed. So, I held on to the card, but never really looked into it. After all, I had had a very successful year of doing nine commercial. Why would I need to be an Uber Driver? But, I kept the card, nonetheless. One day, soon after I had prayed the prayer about secure finances, the card ended up on my desk. I looked into Uber driving on the Internet, and, indeed it became, not only a great source of extra income, but a wonderful source of spiritual growth.

What I do is drive to places that I must go—auditions, the store, errands, etc. After I’m finished with my own business, I turn on the Uber App and let the drives lead me back home. So, I end up making money for every place I drive. Auditions are no longer an investment in “possibility.” They are now, always, a small way of adding to my bank account. It was that simple.

I know there are probably a thousand different ways you could find to make a little extra money, if and when you need it. There is no reason on earth, for a moment, to ever feel that prosperity does not exist for you. Yes, you may have to work a little harder for it, but you certainly do not need to worry about it one more minute. You are made all the possibilities in the universe. You are prosperity unfolding, already. All you have to do is open your heart to it and cha

nge your mind about it.

Worry will simply result in taking away your health, your security, and probably negate any of the good you dream . What you think in mind, liberates Source to create good for you. I believe this is the metaphor of the misunderstood scripture (Matthew 13:12)

Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.

This is not about greed and an unjust God. This scripture is showing the Principle of Prosperity in mind. As Ernest Holmes says: “What you have in mind, produces in kind.”
