The Power of the Mind to Create Anew #releasingthepast #spiritualadvice #personalpower #newthought

We all have spent many hours reliving and recapitulating the past, coupled with hopelessness and regret. The past never changes. No matter how many times we go back to revisit it, we still find the same skeletons hanging there, speaking into the hollowness of the hallways of our brains. So, how can we use the power of our mind to change the desire to revisit this negative past?

The truth is in our creative abilities. We can only release the past by building a present and a future that holds our attention captive with hope and joy. Here is a very pertinent example in my own life that will act as a metaphor for this change:

Last night I opened my computer and noticed that the Trash wouldn’t work. For some strange reason the trash can, which usually resembles a gray garbage can was just a white object that had no details. I tried to throw away a document, but it just bounced back to my desktop.

I decided to Google the problem and see if there was an easy fix. The Apple Forum said to run a general software cleaning program and see if the problem would be resolved. I ran the program and nothing changed. The next step was to create a new user and see if the problem still existed as a new user.

This was where the process became interesting. When I created a new Bo—a Bo 2.0—everything changed. My desktop was sparkling, clear, had no new documents on the desktop and looked as if I had a new computer. The program software was all there, but there was nothing in the trash and nothing in my temporary storage. I was completely wiped clean of the past, the present, and was completely free to create any new future I desired.

I went to the cloud and copied to my new desktop only the documents that I was working on NOW, would work on in the very near future, and documents I used daily. The rest of the clutter I left on the Cloud and in the old user’s desktop. Now, when I open up my Bo 2.0 User, I have a brand new identity with only the parts of my past that serve me.

I’m sure you can see the pertinence of this story. But, one very important aspect of this metaphor needs some extra light. The entire process started by my Trash not working. What could this mean metaphorically about my own ability to process and throw away trash (the past)?

I believe the reason all of this happened with my computer, and everything happens in our lives is because—to the person who is awake to the stories life tells us every moment—there is always a great metaphor to help us through our problems and issues.

I realized that I was having trouble really letting go of the past. I had thought I had emptied the trash many times, but there was still residual problems left there, This was likened to the forensic investigator able to retrieve the shadows of the past from any computer. I had to find a way to cleanse the past completely.

This new idea about starting with a fresh identity has helped me today to quit dragging old thoughts and ideas into my present situation. I must stop seeing the present through the lens of the past. The lens of the past only makes my life harder to visualize in a peaceful and harmonious place. Today, everything is new.

Plotinus was a great philosopher of the second century—one of the first to really bring metaphysics and the science of Divine Mind into our culture. His theory that “science is Spirit inducing Its own laws; intuition is Spirit knowing Itself, and opinion is our estimate of Reality," truly reflects the idea of self-knowingness being the key to Spirituality. Also, his theories reflect the current belief of The Science of Mind, saying that the meditative or contemplative mind is what produces the material world, both from God and from man. Man is the microcosm and God is the macrocosm.

I have seen the seeds of my own ideas manifest in great ways from daily contemplation and meditation. Life amazes me with its abundance and desire to show me peace. When I look into the cosmos, the reflection I see is my own heart. As it should be, everything we perceive begins from our mind, as we are self-knowing, creative beings, born of the One Mind of God.

I had spent so many years robbing myself of this reality, because religion taught me to think that the only self-realizing and creating being done was by God Himself. However, as I read and reread scriptures of ancient philosophers and compare it to the teachings of Jesus, I barely see any difference.

The only real block to understand these philosophers and the real teachings of Jesus is the last few hundred years or so of religion. As long as history has been recorded, a hierarchy of religious leaders has always selfishly held on to the idea that only a select few deserve the Truth. However, I believe that we live in a powerful time when science, intuition, and opinion merge to become the self-knowing, creative soul called man.

Human beings and that which is in the manifest world is all One. Even if we can only understand in part, we still must recognize an image of total harmony; otherwise, we will have no peace, nor see our inheritance of being the creators in this smaller world, Earth, in the great macrocosm of Existence.

I promise you that if you let go of your past beliefs—completely—and begin to simply sit quietly, what will emerge is The Great Truth awaiting all men and women. Since the past has no power in the present, we must even let go of yesterday’s beliefs, so that a great power of Spirit is allowed to grow consistently and profoundly within us.

Choice or Ignorance #sickness #blockingyourdream #pain #self-discovery #InfiniteMind #SOM

If the ground could spit out the seeds we planted, we would say that soil has the power of choice. But it does not. Soil simply takes anything we plant and grows it.

In our continued metaphor between soil and Creative Mind, we could, also, say that Soul (or the subjective matter from which all things are made) has choice. But it doesn’t.

Since the ground gives everyone the result of the seeds he or she plants in the earth, we must admit that the planter (the word, the thought, the command), the soil (the energetic space of creation, the subjective matter), and the plant (the manifestation of the word) have a triune quality. They all need each other to create and manifest in our reality.

If you were eating sunflower seeds and dropped a few seeds in a neighbor’s yard, your negligence would produce sunflowers in your neighbor’s yard, perhaps where he didn’t intend for them to be. If you threw your rotten tomatoes in a garbage heap behind your house, the next year, you will find some volunteer tomato plants back there. The ground isn’t responsible for what you grow. YOU ARE!

You either wake up to this fact and use your power of choice, or you live in ignorance and let life create around you, letting all of your negativity take root in your home, in your brain, and in your community.

Every thought anyone thinks has power. A thought has even more power when it is connected to an emotion. Great monuments are made, art is created, and science is achieved by seed thoughts that become reality with the result of passionate work and thought. If any one of these creators gave up completely in the midst of creating, we would not have a fully grown idea, edifice, or work of art. Creation takes a thought, passion, and, of course, time—just like a fruit tree.

Life and creation is that simple. We must wake up to the fact that we are creators in our lives and on this earth; albeit, in a smaller form as Creator God. We live in the vastness of Divine Mind, sharing in the goodness, in the energy of expression, and in the power of anything we can imagine—good or bad.

This Toaster Isn’t Working!— Creative Mind Part III #Spiritwithoutborders #SubjectiveMind #spiritualadvice #SOM #CreativeMind

Yesterday, my mother called out to me from the kitchen. “Bo, the toaster is broken! Could you check it for me? It’s plugged in. I set the dial to medium dark. I put the gluten-free bread in. I even pressed the trigger to start the darn thing; still, it doesn’t work!”

I considered my options. If she is doing all that she is supposed to do to get connected to the electricity; if she is using the power source, acting on the concepts that are “supposed” to make the electrical kitchen appliance work, then something must be wrong with the Power Source, itself. So, I went to the main circuit breaker. Indeed, the circuit breaker to the kitchen had been triggered and was in the off position. I reset the fuse and she had power again to use the appliance.

So, metaphorically, what does this story teach us?

Many times we say to God and mutter to ourselves, “I’m doing everything I’m supposed to do to make my dreams come true. But, nothing is happening! What’s wrong?” The entire time, though, we had been cut off from the very Source that causes our bread (our idea) to toast (the manifestation of our idea).

Notice in this metaphor that our idea (the bread) must use an appliance to get toasted. Let’s call that appliance our conscious mind. Without the conscious mind, there is no manifestation or idea. But the conscious mind is no good, alone, unless it is plugged into the electrical current. We will call the electrical current The Law or Source.

So, today’s lesson about your Creative Mind is that it must be connected (or plugged in) to the energy of the Big Creative Mind to work. You have certainly heard of the Ego. The Ego is what we will consider as the toaster without the power source. The Ego can yell. It can scream. It can work night and day. But, when the Ego is disconnected from the main stream of power that give everything life (Source, God, The Law), it eventually self-destructs, (or rusts and is thrown out, in this metaphor).

So, how do we PLUG IN to source? I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but we don’t have too many choices where this is concerned. First of all, if you remember our metaphor, my mother saw that the toaster was already plugged in. The truth is that you have always been and will always be plugged into Source. But, flipping that switch in our consciousness that invites the Source to work, (like the circuit breaker) is a deliberate move to connect with God.

Seriously, this take the use of one thing and one thing only, understanding that the Conscious Mind MUST be used to create and add emotional energy to everything we dream, or else our dreams will stay in the toaster and get stale, never even getting hot enough to toast.

In other words, our dreams get stuck because we are not connected to God. But, all we have to do to get connected is realize that we have to turn on one switch (IN OUR MINDS) that gives us the constant realization that ONE LAW will bring power to our dreams. When we do this, everything changes.

In your contemplation today, make sure that those delicate and beautiful dreams and ideas that you have placed in the toaster to cook or finish, (with belief that the Source will cause the dream to manifest), must be connected to the Law and turned on. Once you to turn it on, you must let the Law do the rest of the work. If you put your hand in the toaster and try to make it toaster quicker, you’ll get a tremendous shock.

Do your work. Connect with the Source. And, let Source do Its work.

La Persona Está Confundida— Creative Mind Part II #Spiritwithoutborders #SubjectiveMind #spiritualadvice #SOM #CreativeMind

Beyond all of our differences, One Creative Mind exists at everyone’s disposal. However, understanding this state of mind to become a co-Creator with the One Universal Power of Good gets confusing! Like the title in Spanish, “La persona está confundida, verdad!” (The person is confused, right!)

Ernest Holmes, one of the creators of Metaphysical Thought says this in his wonderful book, “The Science of Mind”: “The Law of Karma is not Kismet, but a Law of Cause and Effect. It is a taskmaster to the unwise; A SERVANT TO THE WISE!”

What this means is that this law of Mind is up to YOU to learn, because the result of it happens no matter if you believe or now. When you imagine and dream—and add to it “nature, impulse, emotion, and conviction,” Holmes says, these thoughts plus your conviction about the thought or dream, will bring about your reality!

Look around you and observe your life. Are you living your dream or are you in the hell of your mind that you have been deliberating for years? If you are in the hell, then you must take a step forward and use your conscious mind to MOLD the Subjective Field of Consciousness (that which is the UNUSED energy of the universe).

If you are a Christian, you believe in what Jesus taught. Jesus was a metaphysician. He spoke his word, believed it with conviction, and from His truth great miracle manifested. We all would hope to, someday, do the work of Jesus. As Jesus says in John 14: 12, “and even much greater works shall you do!”

So, the question is: How do we take what is in our minds and bring it to full fruition in our daily lives? The answer is in the metaphor of a tiny seed planted in the ground. (Another one of Jesus’ teachings.)

Your thoughts and dreams are like this small seed. In this metaphor, the ground is the fertile energy of the Subjective Mind. When you plant this seed thought, you must do something that most of us forget to do when we dream—Intend. You plant the see with the knowledge of one law—the Law of Cause and Effect, which says, when you plant a seed in the ground, it grows. But, you must wait, sometimes, for days, for maybe even seasons, before that plant grows and turns into a tree that bears fruit, right?

So, following the Master Teacher Jesus’ advice, we must take into account that dreams and intention take time. We plant the seed. We water and care for the seed as it grows into a plant. But the one thing we DON’T DO, is actually grow that seed. That action is up to the law, or God. So, we plant the seed; God grows the tree. Or in metaphysical terms, “We plant the intention; Spirit manifests the intention.”

Our one job—should we decide to put this Law to work—is to believe in the Law of Cause and Effect with all of our thoughts and mind. This is where we use affirmations, when our minds slip into disbelief. When your dream doesn’t appear as if it is growing and manifesting, you must still continue to believe. Sometimes, speaking an affirmation helps put your mind back on the right track. Here are a couple of examples of affirmations by Louise Haye, one of the greatest metaphysician of our time:

1. “My income is constantly increasing.”
2. “Peace begins with me. The more peace I have inside, the more I have to share.
3. I act as if I already have what I want.

The Creative Field of Mind #Spiritwithoutborders #SubjectiveMind #spiritualadvice #SOM #CreativeMind

There is only one Creative Mind—beyond all of our differences, our language barriers, our religious idiosyncrasies, and individual laws. This Mind is shared by all When we learn to move into this state of mind, we become co-Creators with the One Universal Power of Good, because the Creative Mind of Source (the energy of God) is a part of you, too!

For the beginner in Metaphysics or—Spirituality without Borders—this first paragraph sounds daunting. I remember when I first heard these concepts, I thought, I guess I’m always going to have to pray with a teacher or a minister who knows these facts, because I don’t get the Idea at all! Then, I took one great class that changed everything for me. I hope to share what I learned in that class with you, to unravel the intricacies of Creative Mind and teach you easy concepts to change your own life.

Let’s start with a simple definition of Creative Mind:

Beyond our limited, conscious mind, individually, we have a subjective mind. Our subjective mind, we use to dream and create. You can access this mind easily by imagining something right now, anything. Perhaps, imagine an orange in your mind. To do this small exercise, you use your subjective mind. It’s that easy!

So, your imagination is part of the Creative Mind of Spirit. The concept here is simple, really. When you dream, you not only use your mind, but you, also, use the Creative Mind, as well. So, dreaming—especially with intention—holds great, creative power.

So, what I would like for you to accomplish today is easy. Every time you imagine something, know that your imagination has the possibility of holding unlimited power for good or may cause negativity. So, if you feel yourself thinking negative thoughts, know that you are putting negative energy into the creative field of mind.

This fact alone helps me avoid negative thoughts. When I feel myself creating a negative thought—I simply change it immediately. For example:

Bo thinks: I don’t see any money coming into my bank account today or this week. I must be doing something wrong. I am never going to be smart enough, good enough, or bright enough to accomplish what I’ve set out to do!

Bo CHANGES HIS THOUGHTS TO: Source has unlimited resources all around me. All of life is sustained by this powerful Source. I am one as this Source right now. This is truth. This is Law. Nothing can change this reality. So, prosperity is mine already. I am on the pathway to good and right thinking, as I set my mind to be One with the Power of this Creative Mind.

As we change our minds, we change our lives. Even, if in this moment, we only experience peace of mind, we have accomplished a great feat. Worry causes negative energy to go to your life and toward your dreams. So, today, be conscious of this powerful energy and use The Creative Mind for your Good!

If You Make the Mold, Who Fills It?

Today, I’m reminded of my childhood, when I lived very near a steel mill. I often would watch the strong metals melted down to a molten form, flowing seemingly from the sky into a huge tub. This liquid metal would be poured into molds and shapes to make more rigid and enduring metals, creating beams, knives, fences, pots and pans, tools, utensils, vehicles, etc. Our consideration today is about creating a Divine Mold with our prayers. Then with this intention, understanding the concept of Divine Energy filling that mold to our request.

Ernest Holmes says: “We should be very careful not to think that because we make the mold (with our prayers), that we must create the substance (that fills the mold)… The molds are made in our subjective minds, through conscious and specific thought… The substance is… Universal Energy.”

What I take from this reading is that, when we set out to pray with intention, we create a mold or a template from which we allow spirit to fill that mold with Divine Substance. From the ether Spirit creates and manifests that which is already in existence in the Mind of God by fulfilling our essential desires.

What a relief, actually, to think that we don’t have to set out to actually fill the mold, that the hard part of the process, Spirit does. We simply rest in the knowledge that the Grand Consciousness is always operating upon a law of mind in which our thoughts are becoming reality—whether negative or positive.

So, let’s look at an example of creating a dream. You discover that your hearts delight would be to have a partner with whom to share your life. When you define this dream by means of creating a mold that is specific to what you want and need, then Spirit goes about filling that mold.

What you need to understand, though, is that mold is specific to what you intend. So, if you just said, “I want a partner to share my life,” then the spirit is free to act on your behalf in any way it sees fit. So, as one minister shared, she prayed that specific prayer and ended up with a puppy dog. She didn’t ask for a human. She didn’t request an intimate partner. She treated for a generic partner to bring joy and share life.

I know for certain, my dog fills that roll perfectly in times of needing unconditional love. However, my dog doesn’t fulfill the role of someone of like mind who would love me intimately and personally. So, it is up to us to “intelligently” respond to the intellect of Universal Mind. We also must meet this mind with passion and feeling to drive our prayer to Source.

So, today, as you create your next prayer or desire, think about with what specificity you build your mold for spirit to fill with divine substance. Make each prayer and request as if you see the pertinent outlines, but allow Spirit to give you the greatest and best, even beyond your own belief.
